5 Days and Counting!

I can't believe how fast this month has gone! It feels like we were just back in Ohio for Thanksgiving, and now we're getting ready to go back again for Christmas! If all goes well, we should hit the road Friday after Andy gets home from work and be back in the Buckeye State by 3 or 4 a.m. Saturday. Then the holiday craziness will set in, and we'll be running back and forth for 10 days. I'm really looking forward to it (especially since I get to see one of my best friends from college - yay!), but at the same time, it'll be exhausting. It's going to feel so good to get back home after New Year's and just be "us" again.
In other news:
I am DONE Christmas shopping. Everything's wrapped and under our tree, waiting for me to bag it all up for traveling. I am so excited about the stuff I picked out for Andy this year; I really think I found things that are perfect for him. We're not doing "our" Christmas until after we get back from Ohio, so I have to wait until January to give it to him, and that's driving me crazy! (I think that he wanted to wait for our Christmas just to give himself more time to shop - I know for a fact that he still hasn't started!)
I'm also well into my Christmas cookie baking. So far, I've made sugar cookie cut-outs, slice 'n bake sugar cookies, molasses gingerbread cookies (Andy's favorite), and M&M cookies. That leaves me with the peanut butter blossom cookies, which I plan on making tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm also planning on making another batch of M&M cookies, since Andy and I have done a pretty good number on the first batch. The way I see it, I should have enough cookies to bring to all of our various events and use some as Christmas presents too.
I'm really enjoying getting to jump into the baking so much this year. Last year, I was so busy with work that I didn't make any cookies. And I know that once I do find a job, I won't feel like baking nearly as often.
Finally, I really am lucky to have the family and in-laws that I do. They all drive me crazy at times, but they all care about both Andy and me and want the best for us. That's not the case for everyone. I don't remember that nearly enough.
Oh, wait! One more thing - the Browns are TIED for first place in the division! We shutout the Bills in a blizzard yesterday - and Pittsburgh lost to Jacksonville. And Baltimore lost to the Dolphins! (It always feels good to see the Ravens go down.) Playoffs are so close I can almost taste them! Gotta remember to take it one week at a time though - the Bengals are next week.
