It's just too frickin' cold.

Seriously... it was -6 at 6:30 am today, and now, four hours later, it's -4. I knew Wisconsin was cold, but I figured it wouldn't be too much colder than Ohio. Guess I was wrong! (This is when I think Andy was crazy for taking a transfer from GA to WI...) Hopefully it warms up a little for the ski-plane fly-in this weekend!
Last night, the slipcovers I ordered arrived! Our couches were this horrible flowered pattern in blue, yellow and green (I was able to buy them cheap right out of college; I didn't have an option with the fabric!), and the cushion on the sofa had started to rip. Since I have very limited (nonexistent) sewing skills, we decided that slipcovers would be the best way to go. (After all, I'd rather not buy new couches now - I'd like our next furniture purchase to be a dining room table set!) We ended up going with Sure Fit suede (well, fake suede) slipcovers from Macy's.com in burgundy. I love the color (kudos to Andy for picking it!), and the fit is OK. It's probably as good as it'll get with slipcovers - it was a huge struggle getting the arms right. But, it's much better than the flowers, and it hides the hole in the cushion! Now, I just have to keep my eyes open for matching throw pillows at Target or somewhere similar...
