...because my mind wanders when I'm left home alone.

1. Stamps are going up in price again! I'm bothered by the fact that they just went up last May, but I'm also annoyed because they're going up one cent, not two. Not because I LIKE spending more money to mail bills, but because last year, we accidentally bought too many 2 cent stamps. What am I going to do with all these extra stamps now?!

2. I hate political ads. We don't vote for another week here, and in two hours of morning news watching, I saw Obama's ad four times. For some reason, TV ads have always irritated me, no matter which candidate they're for. I'd probably vote for whoever would put a stop to them. Oh wait... the ad's on again. Make that five times today.

3. My Brownies made me proud yesterday, for the most part. Cleveland sent six players to the Pro Bowl, and most of the boys did a great job. I'm especially proud of Josh Cribbs. He was the QB at Kent State while I was there, and he's made the most of being Cleveland's star kick returner/special teams man. From what I've heard and read, he's also a stand-up guy in the community. Way to represent! On the other hand, Derek Anderson's performance has me a little concerned about next year - yikes.

4. The writers' strike is just about over, from what I hear. I just have one question: When will 24 be back? It's my favorite show, and I was seriously bummed about it getting delayed/pulled because of the strike. Listen to me Fox - I NEED my Jack Bauer fix. And I need it now.

5. National Treasure: Book of Secrets is a good movie. We went to see it Saturday afternoon, and I actually liked it just as much as the first one. If you liked the first, you'll like the second. I will probably end up buying it when it comes out on DVD.

I agree with you. When I saw that today I was annoyed by the fact that they're going up again too. One cent is nothing but its SOOO annoying to have to get .1 cent stamps to tack on with the 41 cent ones... agh! Gotta love this greedy world! I'm sure they'll go up again in a couple more months!

I had no idea stamps are going up again!  Err, that so annoys me.  And for one cent!  You can't really be mad though if you're no longer into sending mail...if you only email, do online bill paying, etc...I think those reasons are the cause of constant stamp price increases.  I am old school, I still love to write letters and I still write checks out and send my bills in through the mail.  With the loss of thousands of pieces of mail, they need to collect more money in stamps now to pay the mailmen, post offices, etc.  

Sorry to tell you this, but 24 will only air all 24 episodes back to back, so they are probably waiting until NEXT season to bring back the show.  You may be without Jack Bauer for quite awhile.

I hate election time.  I can't stand the backstabbing, the arguing, the sneakiness, the ads on TV, the visuals all over our media.  I know it's important, but I think they go about running in all the wrong ways.  I also hate Valentine's Day for all the floral and jewelry commercials I have to see on TV and hear on the radio.

First I've heard about the stamps and it ticks me off too - I already feel like it's becoming another bill to mail the bills!  I still write checks too.  My husband can sit and watch MSNBC for 24 hours straight.  I think I've become immune to politics on tv.  I don't even notice anymore, but just like Edmo -if I hear that "he went to Jared's" one more time or get hypnotized by the JC Penny swinging necklace again - I'm going to run out into the snow screaming (no, not really)!  Unfortunately, we're not really celebrating V-Day this year.  We usually don't do anything big because my DH is self employed and tax time isn't "money for romance" time.  We will go to dinner or I might check out the site someone else mentioned about cooking.  Other than that - I might send him a sexy text message.  lol
