House shopping!!

After what feels like forever, we're finally starting to move on with our house-hunting project! We met with a mortgage broker and gotten pre-approved, and tomorrow, we're going to go through three houses that our Realtor found for us! I'm not expecting us to fall in love with any of them, but I'm glad we're doing more than just looking at places online.

I'm planning on taking a notebook and our digital camera with us - should we bring anything else? Any things we should pay particular attention to? Questions to ask? Should be quite the adventure.... wish us luck!

I have always been told to take a tennis ball or level to make sure there are no problems with the foundation. Also a small plug in appliance to check all the electrical and flashlight. And all the printouts about the house online just to make sure everything was listed properly and so you don't start mixing up houses. good luck and have fun!

Make sure you have the sewer system checked out too before you buy, regardless of how new or old the house is. First thing we had to replace and not cheap at $10,000. It is not typically included in a regular home inspection and is just a little extra up front, but would have been well worth it in the end!

Good Move! You should look at foreclosure property left vacant by those who were pre-approved above their actual limit-(hope you aren;t one of those)-Still look on your own--agents will sell you the property they want to sell you-only you know what's right for you-Take all the time you need !

What's the camera for ? If you like the house you'll rememer it on your own, and I wouldn't allow you to walk thru my house snapping away. . . You;ll forget and laugh about some of the ones you don't likr.Three houses is Nothing , have them get you a days worth (8-10). Find an area you'd like to live in and have the agent look there . . . . . there are nice houses in a nice area where you;d like to live - Don;t Rush m there are tons o' houses out there and it's a buyers market, and will be for 6 months +
