Quick Update

It's been ages since I posted, so here's the short version of what's been going on lately.

1. I survived both weekends with the in-laws. Over all, it wasn't bad, but I was definitely ready for them to go home by the time Sunday morning rolled around! (One thing I will NEVER understand is how they can stay with us for an entire weekend and never use our shower. Ew. That's just all I have to say about that.)

2. The Favre drama should be coming to an end, which means the tv, newspapers, and radio stations will have to find something else to talk about. Seriously, it's been the leading story for the last month or so. (I have my own opinions on the situation, but I find that they're not always popular with the natives.)

3.  Football's back! Of course, I'm stuck with ESPN's Gamecast for almost all of the Cleveland games, and probably only a few Buckeye games on TV, but I am so glad it's football season again. I love reading the pregame stories, following the game, rehashing the plays, yelling at the team, the whole nine yards. (Speaking of yelling... Brady Quinn just threw an interception! NO! Grr, now things are tired up. And yes, I know it's just preseason and these games don't matter, but still... I want my Browns to do well.)

4. I'm getting an intern at work. It's funny; I'm not really qualified to be any sort of intern adviser, but my boss doesn't really seem to care. I think he's just seeing this girl as a cheap way to proofread our product catalog and create a web site for his pet project. I'm afraid that this internship experience isn't going to be the greatest for this girl, simply because they don't seem to want her to do much design work. And if you don't do the work, you don't really learn anything. I had such an amazing internship experience in college, and I really think it made a huge difference when I landed my first "real" job. I hope this experience doesn't set this girl back. But, on the plus side, once it's over, I suppose I can add "management" to my resume, right?

5. Facebook has reformatted itself, and I'm not liking it. I know that's a silly thing to be annoyed about, but still... don't mess with what I'm used to!

6. I'm getting old. My kid brother (who's 21 now) and his girlfriend (also 21) are on vacation in Maine, visiting my grandparents. When my mom told me that they were going, my first thought was, "he's too young to be going on vacations with just the girlfriend!" And then I realized, I was younger than that on some of my trips to Savannah to see Andy. So I kept my mouth shut on that one...

I think that's about all... nothing exciting planned for this week, but we'll see what pops up. Oh, and the Browns are driving! Touchdown! And the kick is good! 14-7,  middle of the 2nd quarter,  let's go Browns!

5. You can go back to the 'old' facebook if you want to :) In the upper right hand corner, there is a button you can click on 'back to old facebook'. I was totally confused when mine changed about a month ago, but was happy to see that I could change it back :)

1. Congrats on surviving with the in-laws.  It takes a strong person.

3.  You would get along VERY well with my husband! :)

5.  I like the new facebook... but it takes some getting used to.

6.  I got married right after I turned 21!  It sounds young now, and sometimes I forget that I got engaged 2 days before my 20th birthday.
