I guess I should post and not comment anymore on other's stuff. Here's what I'm working on....comment at will
- Maintain a balance and sense of humor
- Obtain the motivation to accomplish these tasks....
- Invitations - a must plus it mandates how many people I should pay for. I have been cornered a few times about "am I invited?" - how do you tell people No?
- Track down friends with missing contact info and send off their invites
- Mail out wedding verification info for notary public to sign - I'm kicking it Catholic style and let me say they are strict for a reason.
- Tux details - this is a guy task...and glad to give it away. I'll write emails/details but I refuse to get involved anymore - you should ask me about the annoying girl at MW.
- Music list - this is primarily done thanks to a BM - I just have to go in and update/delete/add stuff....not much
- Pay vendors...of course - where would wedding planning be without forking over hard earned cash?
- Sit with my florist about 2nd payment, ideas, where to purchase vases (I'm so not renting from her - I want the girls to have something to keep their flowers in for a while)
- Review my registry...(maybe add the digital camera I wanted - its a gift)
- Maintain a sense of humor - my fiance's WVU friend is tormenting me and refusing to cooperate...I am definitely in the "I'm so vain/I'm the bride now do as I say" mode - that may never go away....got to work on that.
- Oversight of the rehearsal dinner - see earlier post. Again, I wash my hands of it...Olive Garden? Sounds good, right?
- Ask a church friend to be a reader/on call groomsman - my fiance has two male attendants to my three female attendants. I want symmetry people.
- Start purchasing attendants gifts (this actually may come last)
- Buy cake topper - initial script version because mom said the inter-racial topper looked tacky.
- Take engagement photo - I don't want a guest book (yuck so 1979 - I'm Anti-mom's wedding) so I'm taking a photo with my honey. Ordering the photo online, matting it, and setting it up at the wedding and reception for folks to sign it. I got the idea from a friend who got married here. Need DC sights to take pix at (INSERT COMMENTS HERE)
- Sneak in my wedding announcement - my fiance who is Native American and shy doesn't want one here in DC. But he didn't specify where - so I'm getting one back home. It would at least appease my mom.
- Have my sister hassle my other BMs to purchase their dresses and shoes...Black shoes and dresses - I'm practical and I like sparse color accents.
- Get ready to call the priest
- Start planning for June/July
