I made this mistake and did it 2 days before my wedding day and I ended up with 2 giant zits. Luckily I had an excellent makeup artist and my face looked flawless in pictures though in videos I could see them, but everyone else said they couldn't tell if I hadn't mentioned. Anyway, just don't do it before any big events or you could end up aggravating your skin if you are acne prone. Good luck!

Wish I knew this before my wedding. As a present, my sister treated me to my first facial 3 days before my wedding. Lucky me, I didn't break out until I was on my honeymoon.

The reason that you break out is usually because of the products that are used on your face-not the extractions. As an Esthetician I can tell you that it is always best to have a very thorough consultation with your skin care specialist prior to a facial. That way they will know your skin type and use the appropriate products for you. It is important to know that you should NOT expect to break out after a facial, if that is the case it would probably be better to find another esthetician.
