Well, going out to Colorado for Memorial Day was most informative. We met a wedding planner (for informational reasons) and didn't really learn much, other than that we were being pretty practical about it.
Went fabric shopping with my Mom and my bridesmaid and found about 2/3 of my wedding dress fabric. Its not white, which is a little wierd. The underskirt is rose-beige, and the over skirt is a dark beige chiffon with piping, beads and sequins on it. Now all I need is lining and a contrast fabric. That will be easier said than done. What color do you use to contrast Rose beige? I'm waiting until fall clothes come out before I go searching. Maybe then I'll be luckier with finding a fabric that I like.
We're also in the middle of moving... a very slloooowww move because my fiance's mom is moving out as we're moving in. Oh well... as frustrating as it is, at least we're not trying to haul all of our furniture on one blazing summer Saturday. A little bit at a time is easier on the heat stroke.
So, I'm waiting until we're in the new place with a room I can shut the cats out and not get cat hair all over my wedding dress - although why that matters I couldn't say. There's cat hair all over everything else.... I'm waiting until I can shut the cats out before I start work on "the" dress.
We're hoping to get started on catering this month, although with the move that doesn't seem to be happening so far.
I've made a decision on what kind of flower I'd like to carry in my bouquet... an amaryllis (or three). I realize that they're HUGE flowers... but that't what I want. No roses or anything. So blase (to me anyway). I figure then everyone else can do some kind of lilly.
I don't know. We'll see. Perhaps a two year engagement isn't really about needing that much time to plan. (Although I am glad that we booked our venue that far in advance.) Perhaps its the time to make up my mind and THEN plan, knowing what I want.
An interesting thought.
