wedding bands, wedding bands, wedding bands

Yeah. I know I'm a little early in the whole planning stages for this part, but I've always loved jewelery... so why wouldn't I be excited about the piece that I'll wear for the rest of my life?

Anyway, when we first got engaged (akk...16 months ago... or longer) we talked about doing puzzle rings.  I personally think they're a really cool idea, but after visiting the NY Renaissance Festival and trying a few on last September with my engagement ring... well, I'd have to wear the diamond on the other hand.  Do-able, but I don't really wanna.

Fortunately for us, the Patrick and I are one of the last to get married (in his office and mine) so he's been looking at all of the "simple" wedding bands on the other married guys in his office... as well as taking into account that I'd like to wear both rings together.

So, we started looking at Celtic wedding bands, which is what I wanted initially.

Sadly, the price of gold is astronomical, not to mention the extra work that goes into making the Celtic design... and we're looking at AT LEAST $500 each for something nice.

That's out of our price range for now.

So... I was looking at the wedding bands in the knot gallery... and I see one place they feature that does tungsten/titanium bands... and off I go researching the titanium bands.

You can get some REALLY beautiful rings for MUCH less money.  Only problem is that you can't really size titanium.  So, for rings that we both like, we're looking between $150 and $250 each.  MUCH more affordable.  They even do Celtic designs, which is pretty darned cool!  They're (of course) more expensive than regular round rings, but they're still cheaper than gold or platinum.

That and we both prefer silver color anyway so titanium is a good fit.

On the down side, we haven't agreed on any one thing yet, so I guess it all can change tomorrow.

Sounds neat.  I've had my band since we got engaged (over a year and half ago).  You're not that early.  I'm so disapointed about the gold prices.  You've reminded me of some good possibilities though!
