and so it appears

That we just might have chosen a caterer.  It still comes out more than we really wanted to spend...

Which somehow seemed inevitable...

But, it seems like we'll be getting the most put together person/company for our money.

Decent food (VERY important), a larger staff (can't really go wrong, can you?) and a company that will have someone there even if our person is sick.  Multo bene!! (Sorry... too much cheezburger).

Anyway,  now all I have to do is NOT freak out about this particular bill.

I mean, we're saving money elsewhere.  Everything for my dress?  $400.

Our photog? Well, that remains to be seen.

Suffice to say, with my aunt making the cake (hooray for advance wedding present) a cousin to do VERY basic flowers (just bouts, bouqs and corsages, thx) and my loving (thank goodness I have her) mother doing the invites, it could really be worse.

I mean, for some, we're figuring in that we'd have to buy soda (included in this price)... and then rentals.  (I think we're getting a pretty darned decent deal.)  So many things to think about JUST for the caterer!!! AAAAHHHHHH!!!  It sucks to be a foodie sometimes.

Anyway, I think the decision is made.  I think the fi and I are just suffering from sticker shock.  That and the fi has that nasty bug that's been going around, so getting him to think through the congestion is kinda tough.

And we'll hopefully see a bit more money come in.  There are some things in the works that I'd rather not jinx.

Oh, and to top off the wedding stress, there's also LEASE nonsense.  Don't get me started.

But if we wait two years... then there would be psycho prego lady to deal with, instead of just bride to be.

Sorry if this is a bit... random.  Bogle Cabernet Sauvingnon has a bit of a kick.

But, I'll sleep well.

re: and so it appears

You know, those extras are part of what helped us decide on our location.  With one choice we had to rent everything...I mean EVERYTHING.  If it hadn't been for that, I may not have found this wonderful inn just a town over where they take care of everything and their caterer is WONDERFUL!  She's not there year round, but she has been communicating with me via email and has been simply lovely to work with.  I'm sure that you'll find dealing with just the caterer instead of a bunch of rental places far outweighs the price!  Especially since they don't charge as much since they re-use some of the goods.

Congratulations on all the others too.  We are also extremely lucky that our best man's mother is a retired cake decorator!  She is making our cake for free.  We're going a bit non-traditional on flowers and giving away long-stemmed roses instead of corsages, but we are going to my very favorite florist and they do an AMAZING job!

For the toasting goblets...since our cake topper is a fairy kissing the nose of a dragon I thought one dragon and one fairy goblet from the page you suggested, but I ended up with the flu this weekend and so never got to show my FI the pictures.  I have to do it tonight.  I'll update my blog tonight!

Good luck - I look forward to reading the next entry in your blog!!
