Baby equals no money

While I was pregnant everyone felt the need to tell me how expensive a baby would be. I always thought, “How expensive could it be? A few packs of diapers and some clothes. Big deal, that's not expensive.” But now I see what they mean. It's not the direct cost of raising a baby (diapers, food, clothing, daycare etc.), it's the indirect cost that's making us broke (co-pays at the doctors office, medicine for the many times she is sick from being in daycare, laundry detergent from having 5 times more laundry to do, etc.)

I can honestly say that I haven't been this broke since I was in college.

Oh, and the washer stopped working last night. (guess I'll save a little bit of money on laundry detergent).
