Making Christmas Cookies

Posted Wednesday, December 19, 2007 4:11 PM

We made a ton of Christmas cookies last night for our friends and neighbors. As usual our favorites were the buckeyes and rice krispy treat snowballs but we tried some new ones too. I love how the reindeer chocolate chip cookies turned out and the bite sized smores were sooooo yummy. I think these 2 will have to be made again next year.

OK... what's your secret for Buckeyes? I tried some earlier this year, and they were a disaster!

The smores are a mini grahm cracker dipped in semi sweet chocolate and topped with a marshmallow. mmmmmmmm

re: Making Christmas Cookies

The secret to our buckeyes is to use your hands when mixing in the powdered suger. I know it's so messy, but easier to mix in all the sugar. And sometimes we don't end up using all the sugar. Also, if you stick the peanut butter balls in the fridge to get them a little firm, it will make dipping them MUCH easier. We also used a crock pot for keeping the chocolate a perfect temperature. Happy baking!

re: Making Christmas Cookies

Those reindeer cookies are probably the cutest cookies I have ever seen....I will have to try making both if those next week. (Or give the idea to MIL since she goes cookie crazy around the holiday's.)
