Breast Pumps

This takes more research than any other baby product that I have got. Everyone kept telling me to get the Medela PISA. When I saw the price my mouth dropped. We do not have $300+ to drop on a pump right now. But everyone is saying "it will pay for itself in the end because you spend more than that on formula a month" which is true, but its still $300.

I do some research and found a really good one, for $159.00 at Babies R Us. Its the Lansinoh Double Electric Breast Pump. All the reviews are good, and even members of this breastfeeding community, have said its good. Im glad because I need a really good pump.

After finding this for a good price, my MIL called, this time it was to ask if I was in labor. I told her "no im not, im just uncomfortable and waiting" we both laughed. She asked if I had eaten today, and I told her "I had ate a sandwich, and was pretty full" I then told her I finally found a breastpump, and was going to get it today. She asked me what kind and how much I told her about it, and she said "well stop by here before you go and I'll give you the money for it"

I was speechless. I told her "you dont have to give me anything, its ok, youve already done so much" then she tells me "no no no, its ok. I know its kind of expensive and you can use the money for diapers or wipes or other things, so just come get the money"

So me being the emotional person I am, start to cry, and she laughs. She said "oh youre so emotional its ok" then I laughed. I swear I love my MIL she is amazing. She has already done so much for us, and I dont even know how to thank her. Ive tried to give her money for watching Haley, she wont accept it. Ive tried to give her gift cards to her favorite stores, she wont take them. She just likes to help people.

re: Breast Pumps

aw she sounds great. That's very sweet of her to help out so much.

Maybe you can take what you were going to spend plus her contribution and get the really good one?

re: Breast Pumps

Your MIL is amazing.  I decided I will probably rent one from the hospital.  We want to TTC about 6-8 months after the first (I know, I'm nuts) so I figured I'd stop breastfeeding around 6 months.  To buy what everyone recommends is too expensive, but I can rent a hospital grade pump for about $35 a month.  For six months, it would only be $210.  But I haven't decided just yet.
