This thing is the best thing invented since sliced bread. For the last few weeks, Alyssa has not slept well, which means I do not sleep well. When I don't sleep well, no one is happy.

I broke down and bought this sound spa, because everyone on different boards I go to, rave about it.

I bought it from Bed Bath and Beyond because I can always take it back, even if I throw it against the wall, because they have great customer service, and I used to work there.

I plugged it up to see the cute discs that are no use to Alyssa right now because shes 4 months and can't see that clear, and that far, so it was only cute for me.

Alyssa was fighting her sleep about 40 minutes ago, so I turned on the ocean setting, and laid her in her bed. She calmed down, so I left the room. 5 minutes I go back in, and she is sound asleep. I couldn't believe it, I wanted to cry. Could this thing actually help both of us sleep? God I hope so. It also has a timer, but I will never use it. If it means I can get 6+ hours of sleep it will stay on all night

I am a little irritated

Before Aaron and I decided I would be a SAHM we had to think, and write down how this would work. These are the questions we had to ask

What would we have to give up?

How much of a loss will we have

most importantly. Could we make it?

After much talking we decided we would be fine with just one person working in the household. After that was settled, we had to figure out how to split the parenting up.

I was working in the evenings so it was simple. Id have the kids in the day time, and Aaron would have them at night. With me not working we had to figure out how this was going to work

From 6:30am to 5:00pm M-F I have the kids, so can you imagine how exhasuted I am when he walks through that door? We decided that once he got home he would take the kids for a couple hours so I could eat, shower, run to the store, whatever I had to do. I would still have to get up at night because Alyssa is breastfed. If I was at home while he had them I would just feed her, and give her right back, but if I was gone she would just eat through the syringe.

This works for us. Even if she wasn't breastfed, I would still get up at night because I had to take into consideration that my husband, the provider for our family, the one who makes sure we have a house to live in, the one that makes sure we have food, a car, gas, clothing, my lovely internet ect. Gets enough sleep to be able to function.

So tell me why on the baby nest forums so many women are irritated by the fact that their husbands dont get up at night and they are SAHM. I understand a SAHM is a full time job, it is the HARDEST job to do. But did they ever think that the reason they are a SAHM is because their husbands or s/o are working so hard to be able to afford everything?

My husband has never complained of the extra hour he has to work, he has never complained about being tired when he comes home, and takes the kids, he never asks me what I did all day (Oh he knows better than that lol) We decided to do what was best for our family. So if he doesnt complain what gives me the right to, or any other SAHM for that matter? If I offended anyone by this post then I am sorry but Im just irritated that some women think that their husbands should get up at nights for feedings and changes when they have to work 8+ hours a day outside of the home.

At least if we as mothers are at home and get tired we can go to sleep when the baby sleeps, the fathers do not get that option.

Alyssa's new playmat

Alyssa's new play mat from Bright Starts for $12.99. See I usually do this, no matter how tired I am because when Alyssa moves to Haley's room I want her to be used to being in her bed.

Well last night was different I was compltely exhasuted, so I just let Alyssa stay in our bed. Well this morning I woke up to poop covered sheets, it was a lot of fun cleaning it up. My poor baby had a stomach ache last night because she spit up all of her milk and cried when she did, so I guess she had to just let it out. TMI I know lol.

I just didnt want to wake up at 5am, seeing as I had to get up at 7. Those 2 extra house mean EVERYTHING with a baby.

My Girls

Post Baby Pictures

Here are the first pictures I have taken of myself since having Alyssa

Nevermind the mess in the background, ive been sudying all day for school :)

I am now a size 6! havent been that size since I was 19!

Play Yard Review

I did a video review for the play yard that I have.
