As we journey through our new life together as husband and wife in Christ, I'll use this space to detail some of our happenings every now and again. It'll be so neat to look back on this to see how much we have grown together!

Good news from immigration and apple picking!

Posted Sunday, October 14, 2007 4:47 PM

Yesterday was a great day!  My husband and I took my youngest brother to go apple picking, and it was just the absolute most perfect day we could have asked for.  We went almost exactly this time last year, and apples were a little scarce.  Antonio was an apple picking MACHINE, though!  His bag of apples wound up weighing 10.44 pounds.  XD  He wanted to go for more, but we decided to go play in the haystack instead.  We spent about $45 dollars there.  @__@

We hung out at my family's house a little, playing Hullabuloo (sp?) with some of my brothers, and we later decided to go home since my family eats dinner way earlier than we normally do.  When we get home, I, of course, run to eagerly check the mail.  (This is basically a daily ritual when waiting for notices from immigration.)

There was a single letter tucked inside, though I couldn't see where it was from since it's back was to me...(lol, suspense).

It was the letter from immigration we were waiting for!  Woo!  His biometrics appointment is set up for November 3rd at 2pm.  So far, everything is moving along very smoothly.  Everything should work out perfectly for what we are hoping to do next year.  ^^;;

Anyway, I've got some cinnamon rolls in the oven right now, so maybe I'll have another update later.  :D

re: Good news from immigration and apple picking!

My husband is Korean, and we, too, are going through the green card process.  We hired an attorney to do all of the paperwork because I think my father would have tried to kill us if we didn't.  (Even before we got married, he tended to over-analyze immigration stuff and whatnot, so we more-or-less did it for his peace of mind.)  It definitely has been nice, though, to just give someone our info and have them do everything for us.  Our case is a little special in that my husband is actually kind of sponsoring himself with his salary, so it was nice to not have to tackle the dreaded affidavit of support ourselves.  @__@
