As we journey through our new life together as husband and wife in Christ, I'll use this space to detail some of our happenings every now and again. It'll be so neat to look back on this to see how much we have grown together!

Routine "Enhancements"

Posted Saturday, January 12, 2008 5:51 AM

I've added some music to my daily stretching!  For my morning stretches, I've started listening to more techno type music.  Thus far, it's been Cosmic Ally's Techno Nation Corea.  For my bedtime stretches, I'm toning it down.  I was going to try to find some Korean traditional music, but instead, I whipped out Yiruma's From the Yellow Room--some nice, melodic piano music.  It's neat to see how adding a little music adds to your routine.  ^^;;

Moreover, I've been trying to make sure I have a glass of orange juice in the morning, just because it sounds like a good idea.  Many start with milk, so why not some juice for me?  Mine has the calcium plus vitamin D since I am lactose intolerant, so yeah.  Yay for orange juice.

Other than that, I looked everywhere for a little calendar to chart when I do my stretches (which is more-or-less an accountability partner since I'll feel so bad if I can't mark off a morning or night because of not doing them!), but I couldn't find what I was looking for anywhere.  You know, those little calendars you see EVERYWHERE right before the a new year begins.  Turns out that the travel agency we used for our honeymoon was sending out calendars, and it's exactly the size I was looking for!  I promptly snatched it from my husband's hands when he opened it up.  ^.~

In non-routine news, the search for a location for our school looks like its been taking a bit of a toll on my husband.  While really excited, he seems a bit anxious as well.  Actually, yes, it does mean a bit of stress on us and our finances for the next few months.  However, it's in God's hands.  We have back-up plans, we have emergency funds, we have each other.  In my opinion, we're doing alright with that there.  ^.~  The hardest part is simply the time crunch.  Whereas we planned to be more methodical and complete a lot more research, we're cramming this all into a few weaks' time.  But I have the utmost confidence in him in his ability to succeed wherever he goes.  It's just settling on a location, and while it's still a lot of hard work on there, we at least have our foundation in that.  Oh, and working around a non-compete agreement.  -.-;  That's probably the only real hurdle right now since it looks like our #1 choice for location would be just inside the "forbidden" 20-mile radius.  We think we have a way to work around this with his boss, but we'll see.  If not, it's not the end of the world.

Someone once said that there are three words more powerful than "I love you," and those are, "I need you."  I think it's true, especially since they can often go hand-in-hand.  The times I feel my husband's love for me the most are often those when I feel like he "needs" me.  Not that he truly does, but those times where he comes into my arms instead of me going into his, or when calls me because he's feeling a little lonely because of a quiet day at home...feeling "needed" can be a very empowering thing.  At any rate, the reason I have poorly typed this little segment is that I feel like he really needs me right now to encourage and support him, and I look forward to doing so in any way that I can.  He has certainly been very up and down about the situation, so I pray I can help keep his spirits high.  He has receive a lot of motivation from his friends, which is usually more than enough, but this time around, he needs more.  I hope he can feel how much I support him in this.

At any rate, enough of the poorly typed mushy stuff.  It's time to get myself ready for bed.
