As we journey through our new life together as husband and wife in Christ, I'll use this space to detail some of our happenings every now and again. It'll be so neat to look back on this to see how much we have grown together!

What is this, high school?

Background info: I was hired along with 5 others, 4 females and 1 male.  We just finished our last day of official training/our second week, woohoo.

So as soon as we were hired on, one relatively key person within our pyramid got promoted.  Today was his farewell lunch, so a bunch of us had lunch together and just hung out and enjoyed ourselves.  I sat between two of the other girls in my training group, and the girl on my left was sitting next to the only male in our group.

So the girl on my right wants me to move closer to tell me something, which wound up being about the girl on my left.  She said, "Do you think she knows he (the guy) has a girlfriend?"  "Um...I don't know.  I didn't even know."  "They're just always so close together, they do like everything together..."  "Um, I haven't really noticed anything..."  "Blah blah blah..."

Clearly, the girl on my left was aware of what was going on.  What is this?  Why are you telling me this stuff?  Why are you getting me involved, making me guilty by association?

After the little gathering, I made sure I went up to the girl who was on my left and explained what had gone on.  I didn't want something so childish to adversely affect any relationship between the two of us because I don't agree with the other's actions.  Why do people need to be like that?  What business is it of mine if they hang out together?  Why do I care?  Yeah, if I saw someone doing something that could harm others, that would bother me.  However, I am not going to make assumptions or listen to garbage through the grapevine.  Take your gossip elsewhere.  My goodness.

Otherwise, the job has been great.  :)  I am struggling with adjusting to such a different time schedule, but hopefully it will get at least a little better.  I am so looking forward to a very relaxing weekend...

Oh, and we may have found a great new opportunity for my husband, so we are definitely praying about that.  I am a bit apprehensive considering his noncompete agreement, but it's all in God's hands.  If He wants us to go in that direction, He will guide us.  We'll see.  ^^;;

YOu guys are not even there a couple of weeks and sombody got moved up?

This is amazing.

I'd avoid the woman you mentioned. Sounds like somebody with too much time on her hands, anyway -- you are right; what is she supposed to care who hangs out with who?

re: What is this, high school?

It was someone in a different position that was related to ours, but yeah, even those who had been around a couple of years were surprised at the relatively sudden news.

Yeah, thankfully, she works on a different floor and in a totally different business unit (same position, though), so once all of this training and assessment jazz is over with, I might just run into her on the elevator.  Last time I checked, it was okay for people of different genders to socialize in this country, lol...

Wow, definitely high school.  There are people at my work that go to the bathroom in groups to talk about someone else while in there.
