Reunited with an old friend

My wedding dress is finally back from the preservation store!! As a gift from my mother & father, they sent my wedding gown off to get professionally cleaned and preserved.  I'm really excited to have it back and in my house and have it preserved nicely, even if my future daughter(s) do not want to wear it.

I absolutely adored my dress! It was an amazing fit and it was so comfortable all night, I didnt feel a thing as I was busting moves on the dance floor during our reception! :)  My gown was the 23rd gown I tried on {yes, I kept track} and the only one that made me say "I want to leave this one on a bit longer".  At the onset of my search for the perfect dress, I tried on the ugliest most hideous things ever; starting out with the big puffy stuff that completely swallowed me, to the feathery-skirted and bubble-skirted dresses that made it seem like my lower body was non-existent.  Nothing looked "right" on me or seemed to make me feel like I wanted to invest the $1000+ for it, except my final decision.  My wedding gown was from the San Patrick line of a wedding designer based in Barcelona.  The entire bodice and skirt were lace and beads and it had wide lace straps at the top with a sweetheart style neckline that I customized into a more square line {trying not to show too much boob}.  It moved with me like second skin and made me truly feel like a princess!

Admittedly, if I could put that thing on again I probably would and I would prance around my house cleaning in it or something, but this way, in the preservation box, at least I wont be able to act on that temptation.  Yay- its back, its in my house, my old friend and I are finally reunited again!

I will admit...I wish I had done that...tried on a ton of dresses.  I never did.  I knew what I wanted and had a seamstress make my design.  I regret not experiencing that trying on 100 dresses thing.  One day, I'm going to take off my wedding ring, go into a bridal shop, pretend to be newly engaged, and try on a gazillion dresses.
