Our wait has paid off!

DH and I were in house-hunting mode about 4 months ago; however, we decided to take a step back and wait for a while to see if interest rates would go down a bit and to build up our down payment amount as much as possible.  We also decided that in the mean time we'd work at zero-ing out our credit card debt- which we have!  All things have happened quite well actually:

- Credit card debt zeroed out

- Interest Rates down

- Down payment amount way up! 

I'm really proud of us!! We are back in house hunting mode, and this time, we are better equipped!

My husband and I have been thinking about buying a house this summer but we might wait another year to do what you did--save up for the down payment as much as we can. We don't have any credit card debt but I do owe my parents $8,000 and we have student loans. So making more aggressive payments on those for another year might make more financial sense.
