Grapes & Dishwasher

Okay - another attempt.  Writing blogs a few times over the past month and then lose them for some reason or another.  Frustrating!  But no time to really troubleshoot and figure it all out.  So...hopefully this isn't another waste of time.

Summer is over.  It's freezing in the mornings and dark.  It drives me crazy.  I just want to hibernate all winter long.  Although I love Fall.  I just wish it'd stay warm!

Picking up the pace with home improvement projects again.  We got a little lazy with the constant work taking up our entire summer.  Once we moved in...it was easier to just relax and put things on hold.  But, now ... there's things I want completed before winter.  Buying a new dishwasher this week.  The one and only appliance that came with the house has 'died'.  I think the first clue was the 5 cycles of wash that are still dirty.  :(   But - new one this week.  DH is looking at stainless steel to match all of our appliances and I think he's narrowed it down to a Bosch at Lowe's.  So...exciting.  A dishwasher.  Actually, it'll be nice.  The one that came with the house was in pretty sad shape.  There were even "home fixing" parts in there that aren't original and wheels keep popping off the bottom rack, etc.

Update:  Went to us-appliances.com and save $200 by choosing a Kitchenaid with more room inside.  No shipping fees and no tax.  Very NICE!  2 wks. to deliver - but the savings is worth the wait (I think.  Ask me again after 2 wks. of hand-washing dishes and dishpan hands!).

On another note - I decided I couldn't let all the grapes go to waste.  I mainly love the shade they provide and really had no interest in making grape jelly or wine, but once they started ripening and looking sooo good and juicy and smelling so sweet, I had to do something.  I decided to make grape juice.  My pot full turned into a gallon of beautiful fuschia-colored juice.  Straining it 10 times wasn't fun but it did taste good and poor DH really liked it but drank nearly the entire gallon in less than 24 hour time period.  He didn't feel so well the next day.  It was worth the effort this one time this year.  Maybe next year I'll be more motivated.  I'll leave the rest for the birds.  It's still my favorite place to sit - under the grapes and relax, however, maybe I need to get crafty and post a sign:

BEWARE OF FALLING GRAPES!

About DANGERUSS & MITTENS

My husband calls me Mittens. I adore my husband, girls (19 & 16), our dapple doxie, Niski and spending time with family. I love the D&R board - you can usually find me there. It's a good thing I love D&R since we bought an old farmhouse last year that needs a complete cosmetic makeover. I love decorating & rearrange the furniture every time I clean. Yes, nearly once a week! I also love all things pink & girly. I'm an entrepreneur (wanna-be supermodel, actress, writer and princess - but my wanna-be status changes frequently). I love to blog. :)
