Parking Lots & Dates

Parking lots and dates - NOT WHAT YOU'RE THINKING! GEEZ! We're married, remember? lol
So...date night wasn't all that romantic, but we got to eat and catch up on each other's day's events. After driving to 2 Mexican restaurants and seeing no parking and people waiting in line outside, we settled for Italian and as we were parking we were discussing breakfast foods for some reason and so we walked to the restaurant next to the Italian one and ate breakfast instead. The walk itself could be viewed as romantic, I guess...if you consider walking through 2 parking lots and past the dumpsters. Uh...not so romantic except that we held hands! And then, yes - we did head to 2 home improvement stores. Grabbed some paint swatch souvenirs and 2 boxes of slate tiles for the mud room.
Saturday we went to IKEA in search of track lighting. Riding with DH in the car is not pleasant (it's 30 mi. or so away). But we finally got there (in one piece) and viewed all the display rooms commenting on what we liked and didn't and got a little perturbed when another shopper ONCE turned around and ran into us, ONCE cut in front of us and walked the speed of a slug and the third encounter when he walked around me and bumped my shoulder had "quiet and polite me" saying "EXCUuuuuuuSE ME". But, with our new track lighting in hand, we sat at the nook/bar facing the parking lot and eating warm cinnamon rolls and drinking milk people-watching. ANOTHER romantic (hehe) adventure.
We ended up meeting another couple (mom) at the Cabana Bar at the Oxford Club in Wexford for lunch/dinner (had a yummy strawberry salad since I had a big cinnamon roll lump in my tummy). It turned out to be a really pleasant beautiful day! Then that evening, DH installed the track lighting and I unpacked the office area and enlisted DH to drill holes in the wall for hanging (my attempts at putting nails in plaster was disaster. Plaster disaster!)
Sunday of course DH grilled wings to go with the beer to go with the Steeler game and I headed for the mall. Needed to get a few things; including Steeler baby items - soooo cute - to make up a gift basket for a baby shower Tues. - working late tonight :( And we watched 'Saving Private Ryan' on tv and cried and that was the end to the weekend. Which brings us to now. Here at work. Preparing for evening meeting. (Okay...so I'm procrastinating the preparing for tonight's meeting...but I'll get there.)
DH is on his own for dinner this evening. Perhaps he can finally get the Mexican we didn't get on Friday.
