I'm not a fan of Halloween. I looooove Autumn. I love pumpkins, colored leaves, scarecrows and apple cider. But I'm not in favor of scary witches, ghosts, vampires, bats, skeletons, blood or monsters. Tomorrow night DH and I are joining my family at Phantom Fright Night at Kennywood Amusement Park. YIKES!
It's 11:36 a.m. on the day before and I'm having anxiety and panic attacks over going! I wonder if my physician will prescribe a magic anti-freaking-out pill? I'm exaggerating, but it is on my mind.
I know that it's not real. It's just costumes and special effects, but my mind just forgets all that when a bloody lunatic jumps out unexpectedly or a mad man with a chain saw hobbles my direction. I'm such a fraidy-cat!
I also don't ride the rides because I'm a whimp that way too. I keep envisioning everyone on the roller coaster and me sitting on a bench minding my own business but somehow attracting ghouls and goblins (big neon sign flashing "Chicken Over Here")! I think they feed on innocent teeth-chattering bystanders who don't make eye contact.
I sound like a barrel of fun, don't I? No rides, no scary-ness. Honestly - I'm fun! Take me to a show, a concert, a party! Take me to a movie! Take me anywhere - but hold my hand and squeeze me close at the foggy dark spooky haunted amuzement park!
