Wanted: Science NON fiction Time Machine

Posted Tuesday, November 20, 2007 11:06 PM

Babies grow up!  I wish time could stand still or I could travel back in time - why hasn't someone invented that science-non-fiction time machine yet?

I'm bored!  It's not often that I have time to kill & nothing to do!  DH not home from work yet, Bri working, and I'm waiting for my youngest daughter to get finished up with candystriping.  She volunteers at the hospital on the maternity floor and wants to be an OB/GYN when she grows up.

She was so cute today sending me a text message from school that she thinks she broke her elbow.  Hmmmm...I don't think one would text with a broken elbow, but hard to tell.  The school nurse iced it and wrapped it up in an ace bandage.  She's always had a made-it-known affection for crutches, wheelchairs and casts (never needed any of those things, thankfully but she always had a strange attraction for them!).

Even though she's turning 15, she still had some little-girl-type presents on her wish list.  So, we'll be watching Shrek the 3rd and the Little Mermaid this weekend.  (She is my baby.)

If I can link from my new computer (adjusting to Windows Vista is a challenge), here she is:

Alainee

Beautiful & innocent, huh?  Don't let that doll-face fool you!  She would make a better lawyer than OB/GYN with her motivation to win arguements!

Sometimes I envy most of the other nesties on here TTC or with little ones.  I started young (I had Alainee when I was 22) - and time just flew by too fast.  Fellow Nesties:  Enjoy the little ones, before you know it - you'll be celebrating your baby's 15th birthday too!

On another note:  It's Thanksgiving eve-eve.  Not at all exciting like DH celebrating my birthday eve eve by surprising me with a gift!  My brother is making Thanksgiving dinner this year (yes - he cooks!) and as long as it's not some turkey that he or my dad hunted and shot, I'm looking forward to just showing up and eating!  We only have to bring a side dish and DH loves to cook, so I just have to decide on what I want him to create and it's done!  No turkey leftovers for us and that bums me, but no mess and since we just had a birthday party here last night (Alainee turns 15 tomorrow, but due to family schedules, we celebrated last night). I'd probably be totally stressed to host another get-together so close together in one week.  So...low key week.  YAY!  Maybe I can start a book or maybe my website will get busy with a lot of traffic (new hobby).  Or...maybe I'll look back through baby pictures and cry because my babies are growing up!

Your daughter is so beautiful.  I'm actually really looking forward to the teenage years.  While I will definitely take your advice and totally treasure all their younger years, I really want those conversations that come when your child is his or her own complete unique person trying to figure out his or her own life.  I can't wait to get a text message saying something about breaking an elbow, but still able to text!

AHHH!  Just saw some of your pics.  You're a STEELERS FAN!  Me TOO!  I used to live in Pittsburgh (for five years) and completely cheer for the Steelers, even though it drives my brother bananas since he's a Browns fan and I used to root for them as well.

About DANGERUSS & MITTENS

My husband calls me Mittens. I adore my husband, girls (19 & 16), our dapple doxie, Niski and spending time with family. I love the D&R board - you can usually find me there. It's a good thing I love D&R since we bought an old farmhouse last year that needs a complete cosmetic makeover. I love decorating & rearrange the furniture every time I clean. Yes, nearly once a week! I also love all things pink & girly. I'm an entrepreneur (wanna-be supermodel, actress, writer and princess - but my wanna-be status changes frequently). I love to blog. :)
