Merry Motivation

Have you ever seen a teenage girl's room? They're not as concerned with Santa making his list and checking it twice! Imagine having 2 teenage girls...there's an area of your home that you can't see the floors for all the mountains of clothes tossed in heaps. So, another attempt at getting them to clean and be organized - I put up mini tabletop trees in their rooms with room-coordinating colors. They're so cute!
Bri's Christmas Tree:
Alainee's Christmas Tree:
And then there's our livingroom. I can't wait to have the flat screen tv on the wall above the fireplace someday in order to have more room. I love re-arranging furniture and decor everytime I clean (it's like a reward and motivation to get a room in shape) but...with the fireplace, the stairs, the opening into the familyroom and the cable/tv - there aren't many options. (Please excuse the free hand-me-down not so decorative drapes ... necessary for winter or the windows would be bare. Drapery is just another item on the long list of home-improvement projects, but it's not near the top!)
My stocking is on the left. Isn't it stylish! The little ones belong to Sneaks (DH's office cat & Niski, our doxie)!

Above is a display on top of the tv armoir in the family room.

I love the banister. I can't seem to capture a picture to give the beautiful pinecone garland justice and this picture is a little blurry. But our livingroom is nice and cozy. Again, please don't hold the drapes against us! lol And yes...that is a can of paint at the bottom of the stairs. DH has various home improvement things sitting in every room. If I dare move something and put it away - it's off with my head because he can't find it. Then again, even if I don't touch a thing - he still can't remember where he left it! (I need to invent GPS tools...I'd be rich!)

Top part of the slim Christmas tree in the family room. Due to unfinished floors with various throw rugs - I chose not to photograph the mess!

We have 3 of these built-ins in our diningroom. I just added some holly garland and tied on pine arrangements.
These are the most festive parts of the house. Today I REALLY need to get to the routine house chores. Just have difficulty finding motivation! Okay...okay. I'm going. Cya!
