We had a wonderful Christmas, spending time with both of our families, giving gifts, getting up before dawn with the girls Christmas morning and then all heading back to bed by 7 a.m., & of course, eating holiday food! I'm off today - hurray! But, trying to find the motivation to accomplish something today. I should clean. I should once again attempt to organize this home office (I've been saying that for months). I should begin preparations of a big-home-cooked meal for DH who had to go into work this morning, especially since we didn't host any of the holiday gatherings and therefore, there are not left overs to be found! Not one single Christmas cookie crumb.
But, I was soooo meant to live week days this way - in my new reindeer jammies and VS robe sipping English breakfast tea while eating Godiva truffles and reading a new book when not distracted by the computer at 1 p.m. in the afternoon! In my own defense, I did work on my website this morning, so I'm not a total lazy @ss. And I picked up a few things around the house.
My oldest daughter however, is sick. Poor thing is feverish and sprawled out near the toilet bowl. I brought her a blankie, ibuprofen and a pillow and I'll make her soup or toast n tea in a little bit. And I checked in with DH and he's sick too. He moved up an appointment and then is going for his own feel better remedy of Chinese food (I don't understand how Chinese doesn't make you feel worse, not better - but he swears by eating hot and spicy Chinese, he's killing germs and viruses). Then he's heading home and I'll quarantine him to the master bedroom turned recovery room.
I think it's best now if I remain in my jammies, keep to myself in my home office in my guest bed and read my new book. I've got to rest and keep up my strength in order to fight off the germs and there's not much sense in starting that big home-cooked meal now. I do have to return to work tomorrow, after all.
