Tuesday Night = Pendant Light, Dinner, Snow, Heath Ledger & American Idol

Posted Wednesday, January 23, 2008 1:14 AM

Teenage mourning in progress tonight.  Heart throb Heath Ledger.  It is sad.  It is tragic.  Death makes me cry too, but I didn’t know him personally and I guess I never drooled over him while drawing his name inside of hearts or writing my name out as MRS. Heath Ledger…so it’s unlikely I’ll wear black and cry into my pillow (now...back then for me it was Johnny Depp 1985, funny that he STILL appeals to teenage girls after all these years!).  I’ll say a pray for those close to HL and I anticipate my teenage daughter’s life will return to normal by this weekend’s semi-formal dance.

Home improvement update:  I have a new pendant light over my kitchen sink!  Hey, a small step in completing another project!  There’s still some patchwork that needs done, sanding and painting before I can put up a curtain rod, but it’s one more thing out of the way!  YAY!  And I was home during the installation but I didn’t get accused of moving tools and the house didn’t quake beneath angry stomping and roaring expletives!  That’s really IMPROVEMENT in the home improvement saga!  So what if I looked up at the ceiling today and saw smudgy dirty fingerprints – I can overlook that for now because Mr. Tool Time actually started a project that could be rated “G” for language!  Hurray!

Have I mentioned lately how much I despise snow?  I’m already thinking about biting my nails over the anxiety of slippery roads in the morning!  Once a year on a weekend I plan to stay inside is okay – it’s pretty to look at then, but I’ve had enough of cold, dark and gloomy.  Our doxie resembles a groundhog when she begs for food, sitting up – if only she could predict spring instead of Punxatawney Phil…I’m sure she’d side with me and the sun would shine Feb. 2nd and it’d be 70 degrees until summer.  I’ll function in the meantime as long as the roads are clear.

Well…I think I’ll post on my www.mitzritz.blogspot before retiring to the couch to laugh and hoot at the American Idol contestants as this evening’s entertainment.  Mr. Tool Time wore his Iron Chef apron tonight and made ham and veggie soup (perfect for freezing cold weather) and our strawberry shortcake dessert has me stuffed and ready to lounge!  Have a good night!

Augh!  I totally forgot to watch American Idol tonight!  How could I have missed that??

I was shocked and a little sad to hear about Heath Ledger, but when I read that drugs may have been involved, I felt more angry than anything that he would do such a thing with a little girl in tow.  I hope that drugs are not the case, though.  :(

I was so devastated (yes, I use the term devastated) when I read about Heath Ledger.  I was totally in love with him, so sure I could convince him to marry me and have a ton of babies, ever since 10 Things I Hate About You in 1999.  Even my husband totally understood I'd be sad because I've always talked about Heath Ledger whenever anyone asked, "Who is your favorite actor?" or "Who is the hottest male actor?"  I feel like someone I had a crush on all throughout high school died.  Very sad.

About DANGERUSS & MITTENS

My husband calls me Mittens. I adore my husband, girls (19 & 16), our dapple doxie, Niski and spending time with family. I love the D&R board - you can usually find me there. It's a good thing I love D&R since we bought an old farmhouse last year that needs a complete cosmetic makeover. I love decorating & rearrange the furniture every time I clean. Yes, nearly once a week! I also love all things pink & girly. I'm an entrepreneur (wanna-be supermodel, actress, writer and princess - but my wanna-be status changes frequently). I love to blog. :)
