Last NuvaRing

On Sunday, my last NuvaRing went in. When this one comes out, that's it, we're no longer using a form of birth control. We're hoping to get pregnant within a few months, but we're not counting on it. I'm 28 years old and I've been on some form of birth control for nearly 13 years. We're also not taking any active measures to track ovulation at this point. It could take a long time, but we're hoping on dumb luck that it will work out earlier and we won't have to even think about it. I'm certainly not ready to be a mom yet, but I think that's why women are pregnant for 40 weeks. It gives us time to get used to the idea and prepare ourselves as best we can. I'm so scared not of the baby phase but for the toddler phase. They always want to be doing something, and entertaining them is going to be very hard for me. I like to just chill and relax, and children don't necessarily understand that. My sister has four children I adore, but it's really hard for me to think of things for them to do when they are all over at my house for the night. Plus, you have to keep a constant eye on them, and I'm quite easily distracted. I hope that as the baby phase ends, I'll be ready to move on and be a good parent of a toddler. Regardless, the excitement of creating something together is growing every day, and I'm actually looking forward to April 15th when I will take out that NuvaRing and know that babymaking is on!
