DIY Projects SUCK!

So we're now officially behind in finishing our basement.  We wanted it mostly if not all done before leaving for our cruise on April 22nd.  That has officially been ruled out.  So the way I look at it, if it can't be done by then, we can back off a bit and take our time.  Nope, not my DH.  He wants to work and work and work until he passes out, giving us zero time of seeing each other or having a conversation.  I try helping him, just to get in a little face time, but he normally has two or three cousins in the basement helping him and tells me he doesn't have much for me to do.  He won't take off for my niece's birthday party, not even for my nephew's 13th BIG TIME birthday party.  He's taking off for Easter, but only begrudgingly.  I bribed him last night.  After his cousins left, he wanted to finish up a few more things and be down in the basement the rest of the night, but I wanted to see him for at least a little bit.  So I told him he could work all night as long as he went for a walk with me and the pups after dinner.  It was a very short walk, but that was really because the dogs were already tired from running in the backyard all afternoon, but at least we had a brief conversation about something other than the damn basement.

On another note, the weather was great this weekend and it put me in good spirits.

It is good that your hubby is such a hard worker...but this goes to show that there can be too much of a good thing!  Hopefully, he will slow down and spend some more time with you.  :)  I would be getting jealous of that project!

At least he wants to finish it.  I would probably have to bribe my hubby to actually get the work DONE!!

I was going to agree with meganwd.  You could have the opposite situation and I think that would be worse.  At least this way your husband is going to finish the darn thing as quickly as he can and things can get back to normal.  I, on the other hand, have a bathroom remodel that was started almost 3 years ago and my husband has no time for it but he refuses to let me hire anyone to do it.  It is our only full bathroom too...but still apparently not a big enough priority for him!
