Goodbye to life without TV

For nearly a week, we have been without a television.  We had carpet installed on Wednesday and we had to unhook the two Dish Network satellite boxes.  This also disabled cable to the other two televisions (sadly, we have 4 TVs in our house - one in the living room which is linked to the one in the bedroom, and two in the basement so my husband can enjoy what he likes to call "picture and picture").  From Wednesday through just last night, we had no television to watch, and let me tell you, it was great.  During dinner, we actually sat facing each other and talked while we ate!  I got so much accomplished around the house without a television distracting me.  I listened to music I hadn't listened to in awhile.  My husband and I actually laid on the couches and spent a whole evening just talking to each other, the first time we've done that without any other distractions since we first started dating.

Unfortunately, it was too much to bear for my husband, who was twitching without his daily installment of Sports Center.  He re-setup the cable in the upstairs living room last night, and 300 channels were brought back to life.  I miss the silence of being without a television, but it's so hard to not watch it when it's right there.  I'm guilty too.

re: Goodbye to life without TV

We're about to implement some type of TV Rule in our house.. we're both equally as guility but i'm the type of person that would much rather be up and out doing s/thing... but if we're home and i'm not doing a/thing that's normally where we are. BUT... we're having major issues getting into bed at a normal time and spending qt time in the BR before we pass out b/c we're exhausted. The good thing is that right now there is NOTHING ON worth watching and the few daytime shows that I tevo are all reruns right now which I love.. .b/c I get to delete them and find s/thing else to do!

I know the feeling - we have been watching less tv during the summer because nothing is on and we have been spending so much quailty time together.  We have actually been talking to on another and it is wonderful.
