A little romance, thanks to nature

Posted Wednesday, June 27, 2007 12:25 PM

My husband and I decided to take a break from working on the house last night so we went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  I wore a dress and put on some makeup.  He even wore a nice shirt.  We decided to eat outside on the patio because the weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold with the right amount of a breeze.  Everything was great.  We were talking and laughing and enjoying each other.

Then the rain came.  It came fast in the form of big bullet rain drops.  Everyone on the patio started freaking out and running inside, but Chris and I were happy out there on the patio, even with the rain.  We arranged the umbrellas so they totally covered us and stayed outside.  The waitress said we could move inside since everyone else did, but that we could stay if we wanted to.  She didn't mind serving us outside in the rain, so we opted to stay.  Rain literally fell everywhere except right where we were, even our table was covered in rain water except for a small area perfectly sized for our food plates.  The waitress brought us our meals and we enjoyed them to the sound of rainfall all around us.  We were the only ones outside on the patio.  It was really quite romantic, even if we hadn't planned on it.

How fun! DH & I love to sit and watch the rain fall and what better place to do it then the Cheesecake Factory! That place is one of our favorites! If you guys have never tried the Mac n Cheese Balls you've got to next time! They're to die for:)

Hey I just saw your pictures of the basement - I love the color - great choice.  Question - may I ask why you have not added me as a friend?

Oh wow, I missed a lot -- just caught up on your last couple of posts.  I'm so glad that the benefit went well.  Maybe your DH's family embarassed your family into being a little more supportive next time.  I'm totally with you about the TV thing.  I complain, I whine, I nag DH to just turn it off.  Then I go watch something totally inane like the Girl's Next Door (Hef's girlfriends in the playboy mansion)...  Your date sounds WONDERFUL.  Nothin' more romantic than rain...and the fact that it lgave you the benefits of isolation in a restaurant -- awesome!

Awwwww, that sounds like a wonderful night!  Time goes fast enough as it is, it's great when you can have a moment like that together and appreciate it for what it is :)
