Stupid Oral Herpes

Posted Tuesday, December 18, 2007 12:13 PM

Just in time for Christmas, ladies and gentlemen, here I am in all my glory with a marvelous fever blister right there on my lower lip!  Yippee!  I get to be all perty for the holidays now.  Nothing like pregnancy bringing out the best in people.  I haven't had a fever blister in years.  Lucky me with my hormones and everything.

I hate fever bisters.. i always get them around the holidays! I dont know if its cause I eat things that I dont normally eat but it sucks!! Go to walgreens.com and get this stuff made my KANKA... its awesome and works so much better than anything else you'll get off the shelves. Now I have pills that I take to prevent them b/c they're so frequent. Good luck!

I am using Zilactin right now.  Hey Amanda, that Kanka says it's for cold sores inside the mouth.  Can you use it for outside?

I usually take one Lysine a day for this very reason, but I stopped because I wasn't sure if it was okay to take with my prenatal vitamins.  Err, dumb cold sores!

re: Stupid Oral Herpes

Our Walgreens has the Kanka stuff that is for outside too! It works SO fast! If yours only has the one for the inside, i'm sure it would work just the same on the outside ias long as it doesnt look too funny. (Mine is a clear brownish liquid, that dries clear) Abreva is over priced and never works for me. I usually take Lysine too for this same reason, but I forget what the other medicine was the doc prescribed.

re: Stupid Oral Herpes

Pregnancy makes them worse! Drinking more water (while I was pregnant) kept them away. I don't know why. Whenever I felt a little tingling I would drink massive amounts of it. Maybe it will help, if not, at least you're drinking much needed water.
