I can never find anything anymore. It's mostly because I'm disorganized now and never seem to have time to catch up, but it's also because my son loves finding items to relocate to random places in our house. I couldn't find my keys on Tuesday and I couldn't

I'm sure you've heard this story. If not, google it. Every person should know that this happened so that we are smarter about what can actually happen to our children. No I don't think the news reports should be "over-selling" this story, but I also believe

My brother's girlfriend - of course I picked her name for our Christmas exchange - wants a James Patterson book. So far she has read "Susan Diaries to Nicholas" and "Kiss the Girls." Any suggestions? I see that many of his books are series books - can

My last post reminded me how much I love grocery shopping. It's such a stress-reliever for me. I get a hot chocolate from the attached Starbucks, then I go up and down each aisle with grocery list and coupons in hand. I got this from my mom - she never

For a minute I’d just like to give myself a little pat on the back. When I was pregnant with Boston, I was talking to people about whether I needed a travel system or if I’d just be fine with a car seat and a stroller. Everyone told me to get the travel

After Boston refused to take his second nap on Monday, I realized I needed to get out of the house just to stay sane. Going out with a really sleepy toddler who knows he should be sleeping instead of running errands is a bad idea. I just wanted to run

So my MIL is even annoying my husband at this point, so you know she's being bad... At a wedding on Saturday, she was just overly ridiculous. "Why aren't they serving alcohol during the dinner?" and "What, they can't serve me Pepsi in a cup, it's gotta

For me it's ... People whose parents paid for their college (I'm still $55K in debt paying for my own college, part of it out of state, even though I've been forking over $329 a month for about 7 years so far). Couples who seem to make about the same

You don't need a book, in my opinion, to teach you how to parent. You do what works for you and your family and your child. And so far, that system is great for us. Examples... 1. Boston started getting rough with the pups, grabbing their fur and trying

I think it's the mornings that seem to be working out well that always surprise you and end up being "one of those mornings"! I decided not to shower this morning. I know, gross - I haven't showered since Sunday afternoon. But look (and many of you can

I was so nervous because switching doctors is scary anyway, let alone at 30 weeks pregnant. Chris couldn't go with me because his day was so slammed at work. Thankfully the midwife I met with was super nice and the appointment was quick and easy. It's

I love Boston, of course. I love him even when he's crying hysterically because we won't let him throw my cell phone in the trash or when we have to wipe his hands clean or when he is forced to lay down and have his diaper changed or when we can't manage

I have no time to update a Facebook page, or to read about the 80 or so people I would probably know on Facebook on a daily or even weekly basis. Most of what I do online is at work and Facebook is blocked anyway. I barely check my hotmail anymore (since

We thought Boston had this sleeping through the night thing figured out. Three consecutive nights! I mean, it took him 14 months but hey, I'll take it. Then last night he woke up at 11:15 pm, before I even went to bed, crying. I went into his room and

She went to her 2 month checkup and is 10 lbs, 50th percentile. So she's growing. I guess I maybe am overreacting but I still hate that my cousin's baby is forced to live on a schedule at such a young age.

For some freakish reason, the alarm went off this morning. The reason this is freakish is because by the time our alarm is set to go off each morning, we're already awake feeding Boston his morning bottle and getting ready for the day - because Boston

So those 6 lbs I put on in one day last week were no fluke. I went from 159 lbs last week to 164 lbs this week. Yikes. I only gained 35 lbs with Boston (putting me at 168 lbs) and I'm only 4 lbs away from that number! Four pounds and I still have 11 weeks

I think we've officially decided to switch to a midwife and deliver at the birthing center rather than the hospital. I talked to my regular OB/GYN at my checkup today and she was very supportive of me having the birthing experience I wanted - even though

Whew, here goes. My family is very messed up right now. Well, we've always been messed up. To be honest, I don't know how my sister, brother, and I survived our childhood so it's no surprise we have quite a few issues as adults. While my sister may think

Boston slept from 8 pm to 7 am - no interruptions! Holy Freaking Crap! I went to bed around 11 pm but didn't fall asleep until about 11:40, so I got nearly 7.5 hours of sleep. It's been a long time since I've experienced that. As for the Birthing Center

We put Boston down at 8 pm. Went to bed easily, as usual. Stayed awake in his crib for about 10 minutes then fell asleep. He woke up at 10, screaming. Chris went in there, calmed him down. The second he walked out of Boston's room, the screaming commenced.
