I'm in love.. and other wedding updates

So the meeting with Melissa went well. She was able to fix things on the contract and we are very pleased. Next week I will stop by to turn in the signed contracts and deposit. (On a side note, I did my taxes the other day so I could get my refund ASAP and was disappointed by the amt of my refund).

The meeting with Theresa (wedding consultant) went fine. However, her prices were a bit high. And a week after the meeting, she still hasn't emailed me her contract or anything else. So you snooze, you lose. Tabitha has been hired as my DOC. Check is in the mail. YAY!!

Next check... our officiant Reverend Kevin Knox. I knew he was the one I had to have. Plus he was so nice to offer a discount bc I am a nurse! Yay!! I made my deposit through paypal this afternoon.

And now on to my favorite activity of wedding planning thus far...the dress! So Terri my twin called last week and said she might come down to FL from Jersey for a weekend in mid February. She just started a new job (i.e. no vacation) so this was great news. It is our friend Claudia's bday weekend and she thought it'd be fun. And I told her Claudia and Karina were planning to go dress shopping with me that weekend. So even more reason to come. I got sooo excited. BUT there's a problem. Airline tickets are very expensive for this weekend and she is broke due to the move and all. So it's still not 100% for sure yet.

So I promised myself not to really go dress shopping (like for real prospects... out of my budget, just for fun places were ok) until I went with my girls. Did I mention I am impatient? Trying on dresses is so much fun. You feel like a princess. So yesterday I decided to go to this place by Florida Mall but it was closed. Well I didn't want to go back home so it wasn't in my plan but I decided to stop by Long's Bridal, which is just a few miles from my house. They have Anjolique dresses and the day or two before I had fallen in love with style #930.

Letty was really sweet and helpful. They didn't have the sample for 930 bc someone had bought it but she showed me one in the back and it was very pretty. Then Letty got honest with me. She said she didn't like Anjolique dresses all that much and you pay too much for what you get. The dress I fell for was $1400... a little out of my budget. But she told me about a Maggie dress (Coco) that looked very similar and was almost half the price. I saw the picture and she was right. Sadly, there was no sample. But she helped me find a couple gowns that had similar cuts and details and I tried those on. I tried on about 6 dresses, including the Maggie Selena (very pretty). I tried on another Maggie that had this heavy spanish-style train, just for fun. It was beautiful, but too much and too heavy. Fernando might not be able to carry me and the dress over the threshold.

So the experience was good. I am now on a mission to try on the Coco. There is a Maggie trunk show on Feb 8-10 at Lily's Bridal. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I sent the link to the Coco to Karina, Claudia and Terri and they all loved it. Yay!! I am in love with the Coco. I am still looking around but I keep going back to it. I want to try it on! I wonder if I'll have that feeling so many brides have when the try on "the one."

The coco is gorgeous!  You might want to hunt around ebay to see if you can find it there.
