St Lucia Here We Come!

Quite a few things happened HM-wise since my last post over 2 weeks ago. After writing that entry, I saw a review from a knottie who stayed at Ti Kaye and the Grande during her HM. Well all of a sudden, we had doubts. I was on trip advisor constantly carefully comparing reviews of both hotels. We started leaning more towards Ti Kaye, then it would change. Just depended on our mood. I posed the question about splitting between the 2 on both the knot and the trip advisor St. Lucia forum. Most of the people on Trip Advisor recommended not moving, while a lot of the knotties who responded to me said I should go for it. During this time, I also got in contact with a different TA. I found Nancy Finn who was recommended by a couple of knotties. She is actually located in Wisconsin but with phone and email, that wasn't an issue. She was so helpful and gave me her honest opinions. She sent me pictures from couples who had been to either Ti Kaye or the Grande or both. Everything looked amazing.

Finally, FI gave me the go-ahead to put down the deposit since we really have the option of changing everything (room category, the hotel, the island, the dates.. yeah EVERYTHING!) So I just got off the phone with Nancy and we have put down our deposit for the 2 nights at Ti Kaye in the Oceanfront Plunge Pool Cottage (preferably M or N), and 4 nights at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian Penthouse Honeymoon Beachfront Concierge Room.

Even though I am exhausted from all the overtime at work, I am superexcited and can't seem to get this huge smile off of my face. I am just so happy that we got this done. I am sooo looking forward to the HM and this just makes it more real. Once flight info becomes available, we will work on the flights. We'll probably wait til we get there or right before we leave to book excursions.

FI will be celebrating his bday while we are at Sandals so later on, Nancy said we would work on something special for his bday. Hopefully we'll get something good (and free). I also promised FI that we'd have the bar in the room stocked with Crown and Coke 24/7. :)
