Thanks, Uncle Sam!!

Yay the stimulus check was deposited into my account this morning. No plans for stimulating the economy right now. The money is being transferred directly to our wedding savings account. FI and I will stimulate the economy in 2009 (the wedding industry) and also stimulate the St. Lucian economy.

Speaking of money, FI and I watched Maxed Out last night. It's a documentary about debt (both the national debt and personal debt). It's pretty depressing to see how many people kill themselves (or contemplate suicide) because of debt, but they obviously don't see any way out.

FI and I watch Suze Orman's show every week as well. We are all about saving and building a stable future for ourselves. Wedding planning has made me realize that I can save A LOT of money if I put a little effort into it. By the end of this month, we'll have about $11,000 saved up for the wedding, and we still have 9 months to go. We've only been saving since the proposal (end of December). See, it can be done!

re: Thanks, Uncle Sam!!

I'm with you!  I can't believe we've saved almost for the entire wedding, and we're still 8 months away.  This has convinced me we can save for a house down payment by our first anniversary.

I've been stimulating the economy ever since I got engaged, so I don't really see why there's a problem!  Hmmm, it might be all my coupons I use.
