My man and I met at a summer camp and have been inseperable ever since. He proposed in August of 06 and we are to be married in August of 08. I'm attempting to do this on a low budget in the most laid back way possible, but only time will tell how it really ends up.

Uh, yeah, I am so going crazy

I had lunch at mom's today, with my sister (a bm) and my fiancé.  We usually have lunch Friday, nothing new there.  Mom asked about the wedding planning, again, that happens pretty much everytime I see my mom.  I gave my stock answer (we need to know what size tent to get and plan the rehearsal dinner) the answer I practice over and over so that I know where I am as well...

Then my mom says, "when you go to [small town near State Park where wedding is being held], you should go into the small town and look for hotels"    And then, I went crazy.  I definitley over reacted to my mom, for no reason that I can see other than wedding planning makes me crazy.

[My crazy: I already researched hotels in this area, I have a well laid out spreadsheet containing all the information on every hotel near the park, apparently my mom feels that a cheaper hotel can be found in the area that doesn't have any information on the internet. So, I totally over reacted, yelling and saying that this part was done, that the rate at the hotel I'd found was ok and if anyone had a problem with that they could stay in Madison (where we all live) and that in fact, I would stay in Madison if it is a big deal or too expensive (this is fine with me).]

I freaked out my fiancé who was muttering under his breath that I needed to calm down, and my mom looked kind of shell shocked... wft is wrong with me?  That is not a natural reaction... or perhaps it's my natural reaction, but it ain't normal... how can I keep from freaking out??

In other (less insane) news, the jeweler called my fiancé regarding the ring situation.  (Apparently my "I know other jewelers are having trunk shows" line worked, the first question they had was "You didn't buy any other wedding rings this weekend, did you?").  They called him Tuesday and said they have their new designs out, that there is one he might like in which the band, rather than being the muy expensive platinum, is a white gold.  It's so new, in fact, they don't have any made... but they'll order one with yellow gold that is made and let him check it out and if he likes it, make the one with white gold and charge us the same price we've already paid.... sounds good... I'm glad they actually a)contacted us b)called my fiancé and not me and c)have something that might actually work.

Now if the rest of the wedding would just plan itself...
