My man and I met at a summer camp and have been inseperable ever since. He proposed in August of 06 and we are to be married in August of 08. I'm attempting to do this on a low budget in the most laid back way possible, but only time will tell how it really ends up.

Music and flowers and time flying by

We found music for our wedding while sitting on the couch last night, how convienent!  We were hanging out, watching TV, when our downstairs neighbors came to hang out.  Talk turned to wedding stuff (since our apartment is covered in it) and then to music at the wedding.  "We still need music, but it has to be accoustic" we said, our neighbor said, "I need gigs to play my accoustic guitar at!" "We can't really pay you" we said, "that's cool, I'll take a free lunch and the opportunity to play" Ok, so music is all set :-)  Plus, he's quite good.  He plays on the porch at night when it's nice (and inside when it's not)... the guy loves music.  So, woohoo to that!  Done is good.

I've been at a loss with flowers, after my unsucessful trips to florists a couple weeks ago.  We're still considering bulk flowers from Sam's club, but then... M and I were at the local farmer's market this weekend and I suddenly realized I could do local wildflowers, how perfect!  I even found a booth there that specializes in wedding flowers!!  I set up an appointment to meet with her next Wednesday.  Then I learned today that one of my co-workers used the same woman and said she did a great job and even sells flowers bulk if you want to do your own arrangements!  So, I think I'm finally on the right track for flowers, yes!

I finally called the hotel and made arrangements for the night before the wedding.  We're still not sure about the night after, the hotel has fantasy suites, and I think that'd be cool, but the woman said because they charge up front, we'd better be sure about the room we want, so I sent off the link with the room styles to M and I'm waiting to see what he says.

Today M took the car in for a tune up, nothing in particular, just 90K maintenence.  Since we've decided to do a random road trip for our honeymoon, we figured we'd better have the car in it's best shape.  If our car didn't get 40+MPG highway we would not be considering a driving trip, but you gotta love Honda Civics.

Our shower is Sunday, I just can't believe how fast time has been going.  There have been some snags in the shower set up and planning, but I love my MOH and I am being as patient as possible and won't say bad things... that's my gift to her.  I already freaked out on her when she tried to move the bachelorette party (for which I feel bad).

I'm getting excited about seeing so many friends and relatives from around the country (and world).  It will be a super fun day.  Basically a laid back picnic to which I will wear a fancy dress that costs a months rent.

Now to figure out a cake...
