Venue Nightmare!

GAH! I hate trying to find a venue! I think I'm starting to see why people get engaged 2-3 years before they get married...I still think they're a bit nuts, but I can see at least one upside to it.
So I've been trying to find a hall that's still available on our original date, 12-6-08. This doesn't seem to be happening. So it looks like we'll have to go with 11-15-08. This wouldn't be so bad, except we've already told TONS of people to plan for 12-6-08. Also, I really want to book something within the next week or so, but first we'll have to get approved for a loan so we know we can afford the whole thing. We're on our own as far as costs, and we both have big families, and we went to different high schools and colleges but are still friends with people from those places, so we have a whole lot of people that we feel close to and therefore should invite. After all, the point of a wedding reception is to celebrate with your friends and family, right?
Anyhoo, I just really need to vent about all this. I've never gotten a loan before, not for a car (parents, but not until I was 18...we weren't rich, but they didn't want me without transportation when I was away at college), school (full ride), nothing. This is really starting to stress me out majorly. GRR!!!
