Great weekend!

I feel like I shouldn't have had such a good weekend with DH gone but I did. Friday night, two of my old roommates and I played Scrabble, went and looked at the 35W bridge (we couldn't see much), and watched The Number 23 (very good movie). It was so much fun hanging out with the girls! Saturday night, I went to church with my friends. Afterward, we went to Applebee's and then to The Bourne Ultimatum (awesome movie). Last night, we grilled out at a park near Lake Harriet in Minneapolis (we got there at 8:00 and stayed until 10). I swung on the swingset for like 30 minutes--so much fun! My favorite thing about Minnesota summers is the nighttime.

I miss DH a ton though and am definitely ready for him to be back. This weekend was fun but it would've been more fun with him around! 5 more days!

Update from my last blog post about self-control over eating habits: I actually made it a whole work week without sweets. The Hershey hugs were staring me down in our pantry (I finally put them away) but I didn't eat any chocolate, cake, or ice cream until Saturday night at Applebee's and even then, I was splitting a dessert with 3 other people (after having a salad for dinner).

I did have a moment of weakness though: last night, a tray of brownies called my name and though I probably ate more than I should have, yesterday was my day to eat whatever I wanted. Even with the brownies, I don't think I was much over my daily calorie limit. The main thing though that I wanted to accomplish through this newfound self-control was that I would never walk away from a meal feeling like I was about to burst or like I had gained 5 lbs in 30 minutes. So far, so good. I was even down 2 lbs this morning! Yay!

Great motto, never eat until you are so stuffed.  I do that now too, and I always feel so much better after each meal.

re: Great weekend!

Oh man that's so great.  I have been eating cautiously too.  I cut way down on sweets but you have to give in every once in a while.  I haven't had a candy bar since February but I have on occassion had a bowl of ice ream (better yet. . .sorbet!).  I've lost 32 lbs since Feb and have felt a lot healthier!
