Our new life in Colorado

Well, we made it! DH and I moved to Boulder, CO, about a week and a half ago. The time has gone by fast so far. DH's parents and younger brother drove out with us to help us move and paint our apartment. It was fun getting to spend that time with them. It took us about 5 days to get our apartment settled. There are still a few odd and ends that we want to get but since DH doesn't have a job yet and I just started working today as a temp for a non-profit ministry, we're waiting to buy that stuff until our income is more certain.
The mountains out here are gorgeous and we only have to drive about 5 minutes to be up in the foothills of them. Some of the curvy roads around here are scary (especially when you have a husband who likes to go around corners so fast the tires squeak!! he is never driving again...) but the views are breathtaking. We've gone hiking 3-4 times on the hardest trails I've ever been on. It's a great way to exercise--between moving, unpacking, and hiking, I've lost 8 pounds!! I hope that I can keep the weight off...my clothes fit so much better and I feel fitter.
DH and I went to a church last weekend but all the members were elderly. So we're still on the hunt for a good church where we can be encouraged spiritually as well as meet other couples our age who we can become friends with. We've also become obsessed with Scrabble in the past 4 days or so. We have played at least 2 games a day. It's taking over our lives!
We miss our friends and family but this experience is all so new for DH and me that being lonely and really missing people hasn't set in yet. So we're just enjoying this new stage in our lives!
