Two weeks until our (almost) free vacation!

DH and I are going to Playa Del Carmen for our anniversary! I don't have much vacation time at the new job, so we are taking advantage of Columbus Day weekend. I added my 2 personal days to the holiday, so we'll be gone for 5 days.

We were lucky enough that there was a beautiful timeshare available for a trade. We also had enough airline miles for free flights ($25 service fee only). The resort did have a small all inclusive fee of $150 per person, but this covers all food, drink, and most activities in the resort. We could have waived the all inclusive fee and paid for our own food and drinks, but we did the math, and figured we'd come out ahead paying the fee.

So, we paid $350 total for a 5 day vacation, which isn't too bad considering we haven't spent a penny other than necessities these past few months. No dinners out, no clothes, home shopping, no movies, etc. So basically, we rolled all of our fun money into one trip, lol.  I can't wait to be laying on the beach........

On a side note, DH listed one of our timeshares for sale today. We have three of them, and it's more vacation time than we can use. We don't want to keep paying maintenance fees for something that is going to waste, so we agreed to sell two of them. We listed one, and depending on how fast that one goes, and how much we get for it, we'll list the other one. That will leave us with one to use for vacations. Keep your fingers crossed that it sells!
