And another blow....

Record breaking heat, 95 to 100 degrees for the last 4 days. I go to turn on my air conditioner on Sunday, and nothing happened. It is completely fried.

Good news: It's not central AC, so it won't cost me $$$$ to repair.

Bad news: It's a 29,000 btu wall unit, and WILL cost me over $500 to replace. Not to mention the fact that it weighs over 150 pounds and will be a b*tch to get out of the wall.

Bah!

Hey, just hang in there. I've been following your blog with interest, and I can't wait for you to post one day saying that you are debt free! When things look tough, think about how much you have ALREADY paid off, and how good it is going to feel to have zero balances on everything. I know you said you didn't make much progress this month, but things have to get better! Oh, and also on the textbook issue, I had really good luck buying books off of Ebay, and then selling them at the end of the semester. On some of the books I made back more than 50% of what I paid. Just a thought. Are there any students in your classes you could carpool with to save on gas?
