Shower Pictures

My shower was on Saturday and I was really glad to get out of the house and see the family and friends that took time out of their busy schedules to come and fellowship with me and to rub up on my belly and talk to my little Munchie :) As you know, this pregnancy has been very difficult for me so this shower was a big deal to me and I am just so grateful to all that were involved. I had a wonderful time!

So I am a little pissed and a little annoyed. I will say that I really don't like the feeling that I am a better friend to others than they are to me and well to make myself feel better I think I should close my circle a little bit. Not TOTALLY cut people off but not over extend myself to those that do not do the same for me. I would like to say it's the pregnancy hormones talking but unfortunately this is a familiar feeling to me by the same people and I just don't think its fair to me. So I plan to step back a little and give to people what they give to me and see how it feels to them.

This attitude comes from the fact that VERY close friends are not coming to my shower this weekend. It may sound bratty but hell I have been on bed rest for 9 weeks and I am the friend that remembers birthdays and anniversaries and sends cards just because, etc and these so called friends aren't coming to my shower? One of the "friends" who claims we are best friends told me that she did RSVP yes to the shower but she forget it's her sisters 33rd birthday and they are going to spend the entire day doing things. The shower is 2 freaking hours!!!!!! I'm beyond annoyed! I have thrown these same people birthday parties, baby showers, etc and they can't drop in and see me and celebrate with me the impending birth of my child? I'm just going to let it go right now. I will just post some pictures that tell how I feel to make myself feel better.

Now that I have gotten that out and I'm letting it go, let's move on. I have plenty to be excited about. Two of my dear friends are throwing me a shower this weekend and I am super excited that they would do something so nice for me. This week I got my glider and I super excited about that too. Gosh I love a sale :) ($100 off my glider)

This weekend was interesting to say the least. Too much to type here but just know that it was a trying weekend for me. Anyway, I got to get out of the house for a very short time and I saw like 10 minutes of my son's game since it was his snack week. It was overwhelming for me so I had to get in the car and wait until it was over. I did get to see my friend and her baby girl when they came to visit which was a nice visit for me and it made me get even more excited to meet my little girl. Two of my sisters came over yesterday and spent some time just chilling at my house with me.

On my way back from the game I stopped at a garage sale and SCORE!!!!! I got Munchie a stroller. This is exciting b/c I had no intentions on getting her a stroller b/c I didn't use one with my son..I just didn't feel like I needed one but we got this gently used stroller that will match her car seat for drum roll please $12!!!!!! Yes I am the queen of sales you can all hate me now lol.

A SUPER LONG Vent!

I haven’t gotten my vent on in a while so bear with me this is long.

In May Christy booked a 3 bedroom condo in Myrtle Beach and my hubby and I were one of the couples going and another one of her couple friends were going. Fast forward to July Christy tells me her husband doesn’t want to go anymore and she wants to cancel but I am looking forward to the trip b/c it will be like a birthday trip for me. I tell her let me see if I can find two couples to go with me before she cancels the reservation. I find two couples (my sister and my friend Rene). Told you this was long as hell.

The condo is $166 per couple for the weekend and I wrote Christy a check for $251 to cover the deposit. Trip is scheduled for this weekend. Last week I decided I would ask Christy if she wanted to go in my place because of my bed rest situation and she says yes. I did not want my money to go to waste b/c it was nonrefundable. So now it’s Christy in my place and my sister and Rene. My sister writes me a check for her $166 to cover her room and pay me back for the deposit that I already made to Christy. Rene is bringing her $166 with her when we check in. AT the last minute my sister and her husband decide not to go but they know they can’t get their money back and they are fine with it. So now it’s just Christy (going in my place) and Rene.

Well yesterday I get the ok from both my docs to go on the trip (with lots of restrictions). I say to Christy that instead of paying $0 for the trip can she and her hubby pay $80 and that way my hubby and I can pay my sister $80 of her money back for the room they already paid for. I think it’s only fair that we give her something back. Christy SNAPS! She doesn’t think my sister should get any of her money back and she is upset b/c my sister canceled at the last minute. Now I’m pissed b/c it really doesn’t matter that my sister canceled she paid for her room so why does Christy care? Christy has plenty of money (I know this for a fact) but she says it’s the principle that I shouldn’t give my sister any money back at all. Basically Christy wants a free trip. Then Christy decides to call the hotel and cancel the reservation! She leaves a voicemail telling me thanks a lot now she is out of $500.

Now let’s go back here I paid her $251 so she’s not out of $500 and no one told her to cancel our reservation. I call the hotel and they say you only forfeit your deposit ($251) when you cancel. SO basically MY money is gone and she is out of nothing! She does not plan to refund my money at all! Here is the kicker, she has decided to get the reservation back use my money and go on the trip and Rene and her husband is going as well. I’m PISSSEEEDDDD. What am I missing here?

I'm soooo bad

So I have been watching movies on the Internet and I know it's bad but when you go to the movies just about every weekend and you can't do that anymore (b/c I'm still on bed rest) what is a girl to do? Here are a few that I have seen so far.

Wanted was GREAT...lots of action.

Lots of action but nms (not my style)...it was just ok for me.

I liked it...it had a good message.

This movie was decent...Will Smith produced it and Samuel L. Jackson is the main character.

I REALLY like scary movies and this was not scary at all...wait for the dvd.

I liked the plot...it was a good movie.

29 Weeks

What a milestone! Sooooo the good news is I asked my doc if I could go to the salon and he said yes but come straight back home and I could only go every other week as long as my fFN tests continue to be negative. The bad news is I got so hot and uncomfortable that I ended up leaving without letting her finish lol My little sister will come over and flat iron my hair to make it look a little better :)

SCORE!!!!! Old Navy Sale Ends TODAY!!!!

The last day for the old navy sale is today and remember to use the code babymat for free shipping if your items are at least $50. I decided I wasn't going to buy Munchie any clothes but that all went down the drain when I saw this sale. The Argyle sweaters are my favorite!!!!!! I ended up getting 13 pieces for $80! That's about $6.15 an item.

My Bed Rest BIRTHDAY

So yesterday was my 29th birthday and it was nice. I did spend most of the day sulking because of this bed rest crap but at the end of the day my little sister and her boyfriend came over with balloons and two of the sweetest cards and we talked for about an hour and then Mattie from my job came over with a nice gift of relaxation items. I got tons of cards, e-mails, and phone calls which made me feel better that people thought of me on my birthday.

Later one of my friends showed up with pink roses (my favorite), and my favorite candy, and with a gift from her and my other sister that was AWESOME! All foodies know that this Martha Stewart Collection 7qt iron pot is the bomb!!!! This was really unexpected and I can't wait to be able to throw down in the kitchen with this pot.

Oh and then this same friend earned herself some cool points for life by giving me a body pillow! Lawd, Lawd I could have kissed that girl! Being on bed rest is HARD but a simple gift like a body pillow made me want to cry b/c I was so stinking excited! She also got me this all natural essential oil aromatherapy massage oil that has chamomile, lavender & rosewood in it. It smells SOOO good! More cool points for her! My sister Aisha came over straight off the road from Virginia with a bag full of goodies!

Hubby and son got me the cutest cards and a cake and Hubby cooked dinner of course and we all ate and watched tv. It turned out not to be so bad after all.Oh but baby wait until next year for my 30th when I can get out the house and do my thing in the Bahamas!
