Monthly Married Challenge

Posted Tuesday, July 08, 2008 5:24 PM

I posted on the D&R board about a monthly challenge that I send to all of my married girlfriends every month to help keep the romance alive. One of the girls suggested that I post it on the D&R board but I was thinking some of you might want to try the challenge as well. Most of the time you will see references to Atlanta but just find something fun in your city that will work.

 Ladies,

Your Monthly Married Challenge for the month of July should you choose to accept it is in two parts this week.

1.)     Create a new “remember that time…” moment with your husband. Picture you and your husband around 70 years old sitting on your porch enjoying the sunshine reminiscing on the past and then he says “Remember that time you _____” This is where I want you to fill in the blank. You have an entire month to come up with something that would be meaningful for you and your hubby. I will share some of my ideas with you ladies:

·         Create a volunteer day where you and the husband pick a Saturday and do nothing but volunteer work for an entire day.

·         Rearrange his schedule for a weekend and drive him to a special weekend location that you guys have never been before.(Helen or NC, TN something not too far)

·         Is there a friend that he hasn’t seen in years? Set something up where the friend comes here or send your hubby there.

·         Scavenger hunt ending in a nice hotel in your city.

·         Do something exciting that he has always wanted to do (skydive, Atlanta motor speedway…something like that)

Until Next Month,

 Jade

"Romance does not just happen... it is a state of mind, not a single action or event. It is an attitude of love, tenderness, and preference that needs to be daily reinforced."

Happy 4th of July!

Posted Thursday, July 03, 2008 1:45 PM

We aren't doing much of anything for the 4th. We plan on taking Khalil to the movies and I plan on meeting some friends for brunch but that's about all.

Munchie is doing well...she even gave me the thumbs up today!

I Cooked!

Posted Monday, June 30, 2008 9:15 AM

My weekend was relaxing. On Saturday we went to a friend's casino engagement party which was lots of fun. Sunday I just relaxed around the house and I actually cooked. Of course I didn't eat the meat and I had to hold my nose but at least I gave my dear husband a break and cooked. This was the 1st time I cooked anything in about 14 weeks. I didn't try anything big...I baked a whole chicken and made some yellow rice and took some white corn off the cob and added fire roasted tomatoes to the corn. There is nothing better than fresh veggies! They beat the frozen stuff every time.

On another note my baby is back from Savannah! He was giving me and Munchie all of the kisses he could give us and it was just so sweet!

UPDATE:

My honey just sent me flowers!!! He loves his wifey :)

17 Weeks

Posted Monday, June 23, 2008 4:24 PM

So the weekend was good. On Friday I went to Seasons 52 with my mom and my sister and it was pretty decent. Munchie still isn't letting me get down the way I want to get down but I have come a long way. On Saturday I went and met my girl Joy at the mall to see her little MJ he is one month old and precious!!! On Sunday all 4 of my sisters and I went to Macaroni Grill with my mother. It was quite refreshing hanging out with just the girls.

I'm 17 weeks now and I'm still FINE!!! LOL

I Knew It!

Posted Friday, June 20, 2008 9:24 AM

This week has been a pretty good week. I didn't tell you all that work has been a little tough these last couple of weeks b/c I have been helping to interview for a new paralegal at my job. Things are going well and we have a couple of strong candidates so hopefully we will be able to make an offer to one of them next week. Speaking of my job....I am taking more of an HR role and i love it! After Munchie arrives I am going to go ahead and go back to school to get my masters in HR.

Speaking of Munchie we had our weekly ultrasound on yesterday and we got to see between Munchie's legs and

So my intuition was right. Of course most people find out at 20 weeks and I know I will get responses that it's too early to find out but the truth is I had a feeling Munchie was a girl since day 1 and my doc told me at 12 weeks she would keep looking at each ultrasound but she was pretty sure Munchie is a girl. At the ultrasound yesterday she says "There's the labia!" So we are excited and we will keep a look out every week at our ultrasounds to make sure that a penis doesn't make it's appearance lol.

Speaking of ultrasounds every week does anyone know how this works with insurance? I better call them today to make sure I'm not going to get a crazy bill in the mail. It is medically necessary for my lupus so maybe that will help. Anyway, keep us in your prayers and have a great weekend!

Know Your Body

Posted Wednesday, June 18, 2008 12:36 PM

I saw two movies this weekend and both were pretty good. Zohan got a little boring towards the end but it wasn't bad. The Happening wasn't as scary as I thought it would be it was more freaky but I really liked the message.

My son is in Savannah for two weeks and I miss him already.

KNOW YOUR BODY

I started having this "heavy" feeling in my pelvic area over the last couple of days and I also started urinating way more than what I felt was normal. I called my OB nurse and she wanted me to come into the office. My urine culture came back fine, however, my doctor told me she sees signs of a UTI and she checked my cervix and noticed a "bruised" spot. She said I would spot for a couple of days but that she is very happy that I am very aware of what is going on with my body. Munchie's heart still sounds great and I start my weekly appointments tomorrow with the perintalogist. I say all of this to say, trust your instinct and when in doubt call your doctor b/c that's what they get paid to do.

1st Baby Item

Posted Tuesday, June 10, 2008 12:07 PM

On Saturday I went to little Kaden's 1st b-day party.

These are a couple of before and after pictures of the horrible powder room.

Color Inspiration picture

My camera didn't pick up the colors that well but the color of the bathroom matches the picture above. I love my husband so much for his hard work. He stripped all of that nasty wallpaper off and smoothed out the wall and painted it the color I chose. We are searching for a nice light fixture to go above the mirrors.

My boss gave me this lovely changing table this weekend. We have to touch it up a little but I am very happy with it and I think it will match the crib that we are looking to purchase.

I had a wonderful end to the weekend hanging out with my girls and seeing SATC again :)

Yay! Friday Is Here

Posted Friday, June 06, 2008 12:03 PM

I have a busy weekend that includes a birthday party, seeing SATC again at the movies with two of my friends, going to the movies with my hubby and stopping by to see my friend's new baby.

Munchie Update:
So some kind of way I have a big stomach but have lost 6lbs in 1 week! My doctor wants me to start planning my meals b/c I'm not eating as much as I should.

14 Weeks and Bumptastic!
