Videography

I was just wondering what other brides are doing as far as vidiography. Do you rank this high on your list of things to have at your wedding? I have found them to be very expensive and I am not sure if it's worth it. Are people just having family members tape or should I have an expensive film? The videos in Phoenix, AZ start at $400 and go up. I was just shocked! Suggestions please.

re: Videography

that is one of the biggest questions my brides ask me all the time.  I'm always trying to find vendor to fit their budget.  if it is really not in your budget, them concentrate on the photographer, them have him place the pictures in order on a cd, with some sounds, he can even incorporate the same songs thy played at your reception.  video is great, but pictures can sometimes say more.  sometimes, the photographer can refer a person ho he know that can do the video work for half the price.    i wish you all the best,  congrats

re: Videography

I'm not having a videographer, just a (great) photographer.  Plus I'm sure family members will take pictures as well.

I don't want the extra hassle (or expense) of a videographer, plus I dunno how much would really be heard at the ceremony without mics (which I don't really want), etc.

re: Videography

I wasn't going to have a videographer, but one just kinda fell into my lap and I couldn't pass up the deal.  $400 sounds really cheap though!  I know my photographer and DJ also have video connections, and if you get the package, you save money.  But if it's not worth it to you, don't sweat it!
