we just found out that we are going to have a new neice or nephew in june. my new SIL is pregnant again! her first born daughter is going to be 2 in march, and the second will be joining us in the middle of next year. we heard the good news a couple weekends ago when we were going to meet up with their family for our annual trip to christmas in the park, in downtown san jose. they were running late, and we called to see where they were en route, and she kinda just blurted out to hubby, "i am sick, and you are going to be an uncle again!" it wasn't a surprise, really. we knew they were trying, and actually we had thought that either she would be pregnant or mike's brother's wife....so mike's sister is the winner!
and last night, i was talking to my best friend (and lovely maid of honor), and her older sister is expecting number 2 as well. and she is also due in june! wowee! i am a lot more surprised with this one! her first daughter will be 2 in july. so many coincidences with these two baby surprises.....btw, both the little girls were in our wedding as flower girls, and my best friend says, "at the next wedding, the siblings can be together again!" i am not sure who's wedding she is talking about...maybe she knows something i don't! hahaha!
a little side note about the flower girls, and one of my favorite parts of our wedding. we had 3 flower girls, the 2 babies mentioned above, and one older girl, 4.5 years old. and we had the 2 babies sitting in a red, radio flyer wagon, and the older girl pulling them down the aisle. and ever since the older girl found out she was going to be a flower girl, her mom told us that she had been practicing her wedding walk for the trip down the aisle, and when the day came, she took her job very seriously....she walked so slow and carefully, the dj had to play the song twice before she made it down! i love that. i only wished i could have witnessed it first hand!
anyhoo, moving on...i guess the next logical question for others to ask is when we are going to start a family. and most people are shocked to find out that kids are in our 3-5 year plan. we are planning to move to new zealand next october, and i can't imagine doing that with an itty bitty baby. we have always planned to travel, and live abroad for a few years before we settle down and start popping them out. MIL had already jokingly (kind of) mentioned that she isn't getting any younger. but i still feel like a kid myself, and i am not yet ready to have such a big responsibility in my life. hubby says he is 60% ready to have a kid. i laughed, and somewhat choked on my dinner when he said that. i am not sure where that scale came from, but i would say my readiness is around 20%.
oh my goodness...enough babbling about the babies!
