...generally happy. doing okay for being right in the middle of my 11 day stretch of working at the hospitals. i have been trying to keep sane as i bounce from my bed, to the gym, to work and back again. so far, so good.
got my passport with my new last name back today. didn't take too long, so that was good. now, we can jet set to germany this july with no hassels, and with the same last name. also, we will start our new lives in new zealand as a family of two.
haven't seen too much of DH since sunday. i have been working nights a lot this week, so our time together has been short, to say the least, and not really quality either. basically i see him for about 5 minutes before i go upstairs and hit the sack. he just wanders in and kisses me goodnight and tucks me in. and i am out like a light, probably before he gets back downstairs. i feel a little bad about that...maybe he feels single again. hahaha. hopefully we will get to go on a date next week. i will finally have a day off on thursday. thank the lord!
i have been back on my normal gym schedule since january 2nd. it is nice to be back on track, even though i have basically had to start over...it is incredible how fast you lose your momentum after just 2 weeks off of the gym! but i am feeling better about myself now. i was feeling like a little chubby-kins prior to the gym reopening at the beginning of the new year.
my best friend was here from seattle last weekend, and i got to see her on monday night and tuesday for short times. she was here with her girlfriends for one of their birthdays, and since she is originally from the bay, she met up with her old school friends too. so, we jointly met up with our friend, nan, and i finally got to meet her hubby and her new 10 week old DD, betty. so tiny, and so cute...made me reminiscent of the times we would hang out on a daily basis.
after the baby introduction, we went to a brewery in the east bay, and met up with another friend. we were talking about how time is flying by and it seems that all of a sudden our topics of conversations have gone from bars and clubs to marriage and babies. my, my, my....we are getting so old. we will all be 30 next year.
we have to go to southern california in march for a wedding reception with the family and friends that were not invited to our wedding. basically, my dad's side of the family was not invited to the wedding b/c i am not close with them, and they would not have traveled to washington; also, we needed to keep our guest list down. so, i agreed to have a reception in the spring for those who were unable to attend the wedding. the truth is, i am not excited nor happy about this event. but, whatever. it will happen, and i will have to survive the crazies for one evening. i guess i am big enough to do that.
we are getting more and more excited (and stressed) about our upcoming move to new zealand. DH has made our doctor's appointments to fill out our medical forms that we need to be cleared for entrance. once that is completed, we have to fill out the actual application, and send in our FBI clearance...which we did a prior to the weddding....you will be pleased to know that we are not criminals!! then it is a waiting game....we are just hoping to be there in october!
anyhoo, i better get back to work....duty calls. take care!
