on a caffeine rush

i am a little jittery right now. i just enjoyed a morning of running around downtown and a latte. now i am on a caffeine-induced high.
we did it! we sent our application out this morning for our new zealand immigration! i have that hurry up and wait feeling. i couldn't sleep last night b/c my mind was running with all the last minute things i needed to do before we sent away the application to our future. i had to get notarized copies of my doctor of pharmacy degree and my license. and DH and i both had to get another set of passport photos. now, it is all done, and it is out of our hands what happens in the next few months. we should get a confirmation within 2 weeks that they received our application, then it can take up to 4 months before we get an answer from the immigration board. we are super excited about this opportunity in our lives. what a way to start our marriage! i can't wait!
happy new year for all those that celebrate the lunar new year! it is the year of the rat, and it is my mom's golden year since it is her 60th birthday next month. i feel a little bad b/c i haven't had a chance to call my parents back yet. i have been so busy with everything. later, i hope...
in a month, we will have our reception in southern california for the relatives and friends that could not make it to our wedding in october. i am in charge of showing up, the favors (we are going to use the same ones we gave out at our wedding), and the slide show. to tell you the truth, i am little less than enthusiastic about seeing some of my family, but i am trying to keep a positive attitude, especially since i probably won't see some of them again for years. if, and when we move out of the country, we aren't planning to make a stateside trip for at least 2 years. but, DH and i are making a long weekend trip out of it, and spending 2 nights in san diego before heading up to orange country for the big party! i am excited about that, which reminds me...i have to look up some hotels there. any suggestions??? thanks! :)
anyhoo, i am gonna try to clean a little before i have to go to work. it is pretty sad that i consider it nice that i don't have to work too late tonight. only till 10 on a friday night! oh boy.
