happily wasting time...

on the nest.  my boss just walked out for lunch.  i have about an hour till my meeting.  so, here i am just nesting away.  that is nice to have some downtime.

day 4 of wearing glasses is bleh!  i don't know how people wear glasses all the time.  my main problem is that i don't know how to work out with glasses on.  i get so sweaty and they start falling off my face...and sometimes they even get foggy.  boo!  i know, i shouldn't be complaining.  soon, my eyes will all be fixed!  hip hip hooray!  turns out that my best friend is getting knee surgery on the same day as i am getting my eye surgery.  how weird.  the only downside to having LASIK next week is that we were supposed to go to so cal and see my parents, bring some boxes home for storage, and go to disneyland.  we will have to postpone till sometime in may.

our taxes went through.  uncle sam is now richer with my money.  **gripes**  well, next year i won't have to bleed so much green.  thank goodness.

dh has been looking up customs issues and shipping our stuff over to new zealand.  everything is such a huge process that we have to familiarize ourselves with.  we are packing up most of our kitchen stuff, except for the bare necessities this weekend.  and i am trying to work on clearing out our closets.

less than 6 months till our target departure date.  it is almost unbelievable.  i haven't told many people yet at work.  but the cat is slowly getting out of the bag.  upper management won't find out till i have official word from the immigration office...so it may not be till june or july.  and that is okay with me.  most people i have told are very supportive, which is nice...not that i expected anyone to poo poo on our parade.

anyhoo, i guess i should get ready for my meeting.

re: happily wasting time...

You know, my husband still solely wears glasses, never even tried contacts.  I don't know how he does it.  He still loses his glasses all the time (he's 28 years old for pete's sake) and he whines when he forgets them before sitting down to watch tv because he can't see.  And when he walks into the bathroom after I shower, it's immediate fog up, which is actually pretty funny.  Good luck on the LASIK.
