The First Entry - Big Change Under Way

It's the end of August and my hubby's birthday is fast approaching, but with life always so busy I have yet to buy him a gift... I must get shopping. Of course that's not the only 'event' this week. He's also changing careers, which means going back to school for the next two years. So guess what that means? I am now the sole bread winner for this family. I'm sure we can make things work financially, but we do own a house, have a toddler and two cats, not to mention the rest of the costs of our daily lives. It will require a new way of life for us for a while. No more instant gratification shopping, like the big flat screen TV we bought last year just before the start of football season. I fully support my hubby in this new endeavor. This might sound crazy to some of you who might love your lifestyle with two incomes. While I do love life with two incomes, I love quality time with my family even more. With his new career my husband will have a set schedule, with reasonable hours and very good pay. This is a huge departure for us, since previously he had a schedule that was more of a guideline, meaning he might work anywhere from 10 hours a day to 18 hours a day. These long days were cause for a lot of tension around the house for so many reasons. So I say... bring on the change!
